There's a character in the 1955 movie "French Cancan" who wears a very fancy uniform. He wears a light blue double-breasted jacket with white braid and bright red pants with stripes on the sides. I think it is some kind of old fashioned military dress uniform. You can see the outfit
0.26 seconds into the trailer (warning:there are 26 seconds of cancan dancing first). My question is:
(1) What sort of uniform was this? Or is it just a costume they made up for the movie?
(2) Where/how could a modern person most affordably get a similar outfit of sufficiently good quality to wear around town at fancy occasions that are not Halloween?

I'm looking for
very cool, light-weight long-sleeve shirts. I have scars on my forearms that I don't like to answer questions about, but my work uniform is short-sleeved. In the past I've worn long-sleeve t-shirts underneath, but I already have a tendency to overheat and these can make me really hot. So what are the lightest weight, thinnest long-sleeve shirts available? They need to be fairly tight-fitting to go comfortably under my work outfit. I'm a lady, if that matters.

Eczema School Uniform. My daughter has quite severe eczema and we're finding that the school uniforms are making her itch even more than usual, as they are not 100% cotton. Looking to you guys to help me find 100% cotton uniform items for her. She needs a shirt, Navy pinafore and white knee length socks. The main problem i'm having is finding a Long Sleeve shirt for her, those i've found so far are too big for her. She 5 now but is quite small for her age. Have thought about getting shirts made for her, but not sure if it's feasible? Any help appreciated.

I used to have a brown UPS drives hat. It was the old style with the plastic buckle. It was given to me in 1998 or so by a UPS driver that I randomly asked if he knew where I could get a hat from. I was doing a school project where I wore a different style of hat every week for the entire school year.
Anyway. At some point I lost the hat. I would like to get another one.
Anyone know where I can get it, or just really sturdy hats with the nice plastic snap buckles any more? The ones with the holes and pegs in them.

Is the military seabag itself considered part of a uniform, such that a retiree is forbidden by the UCMJ to use it except for
ceremonies and official functions? The one I was issued when I enlisted has tons more capacity than any other pack I currently possess, but I'd rather not break regulations even in such a way that is unlikely to be prosecuted. I'm several years out of the service, now, so I can't pose the question to my chain of command.
