I'll be a student in the UK for at least one year. While there are many threads dedicated to unanimously deciding the process is a long, painstakingly near-impossible one, I've yet to see someone recommend a specific type of account and/or bank. (Especially since newer regulations have been implemented). If anyone knows of a FREE way of opening a UK bank account without an established residency, please share details. Thanks.

I've got several trips to the UK coming up. I typically only travel with my 3G iPad, and while the last few trips I've been lucky in finding wifi, I'm considering trying to get the iPad's data service working.
Anyone have recommendations for a prepaid data SIM that I can use with my iPad in the UK (requires a microSIM, not a normal SIM)?

The British Consulate Visa Section in LA today COMPLETELY MISSED the fact my visa application was entitled to priority service from UK-Worldbridge Service despite the priority service notice being the first thing they would have seen upon opening the envelope. My university in Birmingham has been extremely bad at getting documents to me and I start in a week and a half. Is there any way I can notify the consulate that I have made a priority service application and so it should be treated as such?

How can I buy a pair of shoes only sold in the UK?
There is a pair of Clarks that I want but the model is only available in the UK. The website will only ship with in the UK and the US retail stores can't order them. I have an email into Clarks UK and I'm awaiting an answer.
I don't know anyone in the UK so I cant ask them to buy them and ship them.
Is there a way I can buy them and get them to New Jersey? Some sort of shipping relay?

Europeans using PayPal to bill customers in the U.S. or U.K., can you help me? I want to bill for services using PayPal, and then transfer the money to my Greek bank account. Greece uses the Euro. I'd like to bill in dollars for my U.S. clients, but I'm a PayPal newbie as far as receiving funds is concerned. Is there something that I should know about fees or ... um ... anything, really. I don't even know what I don't know! Any tips/advice will be helpful; don't assume it's too minor. :)

I really want to get two tickets to the third day of the third test between England and Pakistan at the Oval (in London). The only tickets on public sale are in the premium section at £100ish each. Any cricket fans know if there's likely to be another release of tickets nearer the time, or whether there's any other legitimate avenue for buying tickets?
