I am a soon-to-be-divorced UK citizen (soon-to-be ex-wife is American) with a permanent resident card (expires 2019). Married in May 2007, came here September 2010, divorcing either this month or next. I'm moving to San Francisco end of May 2012. What, if anything, do I have to tell INS regarding my marital status? Emergency! I'm a Dual UK/USA citizen with valid USA and UK passports. My flight leaves London (where I am now) tomorrow at 2 p.m. I have my UK passport on me, in London, but my USA passport is currently in Manchester. It's 9:44 p.m. in London.
This page says it's against federal law for a US citizen (even a dual citizen) to enter the USA on anything other than a USA passport. So, what are my options? I've JUST applied for an ESTA visa, it's supposed to be instant...

Asking for my friend. My friend is finishing her associate's degree in a creative field in May, but is not sure of whether she should look for a job right away, or accept her admittance to a prestigious and high-profile exchange program at a foreign university. The British Consulate Visa Section in LA today COMPLETELY MISSED the fact my visa application was entitled to priority service from UK-Worldbridge Service despite the priority service notice being the first thing they would have seen upon opening the envelope. My university in Birmingham has been extremely bad at getting documents to me and I start in a week and a half. Is there any way I can notify the consulate that I have made a priority service application and so it should be treated as such?

At the weekend, a wallet containing their ICFN (Immigration Card for Foreign Nationals) was stolen. They urgently need to fly on family matters this weekend, however we're not sure what the status of their return will be without the ICFN

I am a British citizen, my fiance is Japanese. We are getting married in Japan in August. Immediately after the wedding, we are planning on going to the UK Visa Application Centre in Osaka to apply for a spouse visa to allow my (by then) wife to re-enter the UK and work.
I will then return to the UK towards the end of August and she plans to return in September (once the visa has been approved).
Can anyone who has been through or knows about this process offer any advice, experiences or opinions?

britaus website state that I
must be in the UK within three months of my application. The website also says I
should apply in my own country. Hm. I was planning on travelling for around 5 months BEFORE landing in the UK.

read that Amy Winehouse was denied a visa to come to the US for the Grammy's, so she had to perform via satellite. But, since she's a UK citizen, wouldn't she be covered under the
US Visa Waiver Program? Why did she need to apply for a visa before coming to the US?

An Australian friend of mine is in the UK with her boyfriend. Her boyfriend has a full visa, whereas she is only allowed here if she's in a relationship with him. Trouble is, she wants to leave him, and there's still 2 years to go before she can get a full independent visa. If she splits with him, she has to move back to Australia after 2 1/2 years here, and start all over again. What to do? Is there any way she can stay if she splits with him?
