So I applied for an academic position in the UK and I've been invited to interview (yay!). Only just now I realized that they were advertising for two positions, one of which is fixed-term.

I'd like to work in London but I have no idea where to start! I'm a British citizen, age 30, but I've grown up in Australia. I'm looking for any kind of work that pays the bills. Policy work would be especially nice (I have some experience there) but temping/office jobs would be fine too. Can you recommend me some agencies and websites where I can start, and also any other hints and tips for first-timers to the London/UK job market!
Thank you!

I'm a physics graduate trying to sell myself to potential employers in a variety of industries. One of the points I'm trying to emphasize when applying is that I did comparatively well at university. However, I'm unsure how to best convey that fact to international employers.

What are some good job search websites/engines for Europe? I'm interested in jobs in international affairs, public relations, business and finance, advertising and marketing. I'm mostly looking for resources for Germany, Belgium, France and the UK, but pan-European websites are good too.

I was recently made redundant from a job I'd worked at for 3½ years. Under UK law then, I was due a redundancy payoff of
three times my weekly wage, up to a maximum of £290 weekly wage.
From my reading though, an employer could be generous and pay three times the actual wage if it was over £290 - and I'd swear this was what happened the other time I was made redundant. But what experiences have others had?

I have to go on a few job interviews for web producer positions in the UK. I've got a suit, and a collarless black jacket/suit which I quite like and isn't too far off the norm. But I need a good shirt.
What colour shirt should I go for? White? Blue? Lilac? Should it be a "name" shirt eg Boss, Ralph Lauren or will any good quality shirt do?
