Vista, XP & Ubunty Tripple Boot on a Software Raid?

I managed to trash my partitions today trying to install Vista RC1 and dual boot XP (my fault, I did something stupid). Anyway. Since I'm starting from scratch I was thinking it would be amazing to install Vista, XP & Ubuntu, but I'm not sure I can even do that. My problem is that I'm doing a software Raid (0) of my system drive. I know with my old computer it looked like a nightmare to get Ubuntu and XP to share a software raid and I was hoping maybe things have improved, or that my new motherboard/raid controller might work better now though. What do you think? Can it be done? Thanks! [more inside]

Can the hive mind help me optimize my Linux harddrive mount?

I want to make sure I am doing it in a way to most efficiently use the space I have. I have 2 harddrives. 8gig and 40gig. The 8gig is my primary and 40gig the slave. What is the best way to set up my directory tree so that the majority of the software is installed to the 40gig and all of the necessary system files are on the 8gig? I use Kubuntu 6.06 and am willing to edit the config files or even reinstall if it seems worth it.x harddrive mount?

Good riddance?

Help me make my choice from one of the three options below: 1) Fix Windows so that it boots without messing up my Ubuntu. 2) Remove Windows completely. I don't need it anyways. 3) Shrink Windows to the bare minimum and reclaim the space with Ubuntu. [more inside]

PC freezes: bad video card?

How to create a customized, portable Ubuntu environment?

How to create a customized portable ubuntu image? I would like to do something like an Ubuntu livecd but with either flash or a USB hard drive. Basically I would like to have a completely customized Ubuntu environment that will save all my settings when I log out, that I can take to any computer. Ideally I'd like to install a few apps that don't come standard with Ubuntu like Amarok and have those as part of the package. I have a 60 GB Ipod so I could launch from that if possible. I'm a Linux newbie so the simpler, the better!
