I'm looking to diversify the Twitter feeds that I follow (out with sports, in with other subjects), so I'm looking for good Twitter feeds by people/publications in the humanities fields, popular science and/or the media. If you can add a bit about why a particular feed is worth following, so much the better. Thanks!
I'm managing an organization's Twitter account (and other social media efforts). I want to follow back accounts that follow me, but only the ones who are active and have followers of their own. [more inside]
Unlike the Mac and mobile platforms, Windows 7 doesn't have a native Twitter app other than Tweetdeck. But it appears that it's no longer available and only a web-based version of Tweetdeck exists. Is that the case? What else is there?
Popular Twitter feeds collect fake followers. What percentage would you think reasonable for bot followers, over which you'd suspect someone of having padded out their followers list? [more inside]
I would like to observe some active twitter accounts without followers, or with very few followers (let's say, no more than 3). Is there a way to search those particular accounts? Is there a google ninja (or bing, or yandex) that may help me?
Explain this crazy little thing called hashtags to me. How do you use them? How do you find good ones? What the heck are good ones? Why are they good? What do you do with them? Also, twitter culture and relationships. [more inside]
So i've recently come to grasp the power of IFTTT and twitter together. I'd like to experiment with some slightly more advanced twitter automations. I'd like to make a script to use twitter to directly access articles using my institution's URL. More below the fold [more inside]
I’m mostly only interested in tweets with links. I’m looking for both an iPhone app and a web interface (or, as a fallback, a Windows app) that will just show me that. [more inside]
I have a so-far unused 'public' Twitter account under my real name tied to my primary (real-name) gmail account. I have a 2nd Twitter account tied to a different gmail address that I would like to use for personal/ frivolous/off-brand uses. I would prefer that the twain shall never meet - e.g. my personal Twitter will not be suggested to contacts from professional Twitter as 'someone to follow'. Is this possible? [more inside]
A slightly weird situation has arisen in my relationship with my SO over the people I follow on Twitter. To me it feels controlling; am I overreacting? [more inside]

Circa 2010 I saw a video of a talk on dangers of twitter and hacktivism. The man giving this presentation gave an example of a tweet that angered hacktivists. One of them doxxed the twitter user and found out his/her address. A flash mob of angry people showed up at the doorstep. But the wrong address had been used. Then someone died (the homeowner? someone in the crowd? I can't recall.) [more inside]
Several different Twitter users with accounts showing female faces have followed me on my Twitter account with the same line - so, what's this about? [more inside]
For about 4 or 5 days my Twitter timeline (on the twitter website) has not been updating with new tweets. Previously it would show a message at the top indicating "X new tweets". I've tried tweeting Twitter support but got no reply. Is this a bug or a sitewide change?
Debating using Twitter ads at the company where I work- you only pay if the ads actually work, according to twitter - only if people follow you, they say. Our question - if it charges per follower, is it per follower who clicked through the ad and ended up clicking follow after being led there by the ad, or does it charge for every single - even organic or gained otherwise - follower you or your company or brand amass during the time the ad is running? This is a very big distinction as far as I am concerned.
I'm not a power Twitter user, but it's the only tool I'll have to communicate with a 1000 people at a big party next weekend Right now I have more than 200 followers to classify into five or six lists. The web interface for this is dead slow. Is there a tool which provides bulk list management? If one iOS app could do all this, hooray! However, list management is a relatively rare activity, and I'd be thrilled to learn about a suitable Twitter client as well as a utility to enable list creation. Yes, there's a drift of snowflakes within. [more inside]

In order to get my novel published (comedic science fiction), I've been told that I need to build a social media platform (website, facebook, twitter, etc.) and that if publishers see that you have a following they're more likely to take a chance on you. I'm building a website and getting a facebook page in order, but I'm not sure I get twitter, I'd like input on where on the web my audience may already lie, and I need to get over my aversion to self-promotion. I recently started a business and have registered the business name with various municipalities. The relevant Twitter account name is already taken, but has never tweeted and has 3 followers. Is there any chance I could get this handle from Twitter? [more inside]
Once upon a time it was pretty easy to access twitter feeds in an rss reader. But a few months back ( in June I think ) twitter stopped supporting the rss api so now it's not so simple. What options are available for accessing twitter through rss? In the extended explanation I'll list what I have tried so far. Thanks. [more inside]
I don't have cable or the ability to stream live TV, but I watched the first two seasons of Breaking Bad on DVD and have been following a lot of info about it via various podcasts and have my own predictions. Tonight during the series finale, I'd like to follow the show plot-point-by-plot-point live during the show. Are there any twitter feeds that are likely to do this? Spoilers are A-OK and expected and desired. Nothing held back. Who should I be following tonight? Also, what time does it start? (I'm in the Central Time Zone US.)

I have a photograph in my Flickr feed that has proved very popular on Tumblr and other young-person social networking sites. I have a personal connection to the picture and so, when I see it posted without credit, I have been enthusiastically submitting DMCA takedown notices to remove the image. Yesterday I saw it as someone's Twitter avatar. They had cropped out most of the photo and added a stupid mustache to the picture. I submitted a DMCA notice; Twitter's response was to ask me if it didn't fall under fair use. I don't think it does. [more inside]
Seeking replacement for Echofon for Firefox. This little Twitter client sat unobtrusively as a button in your browser and would pop up a handy, no-frills pane to check recent tweets. Unfortunately, it no longer works. I'd love something similarly lightweight that integrates with your browser (I use Firefox for Mac), though if a browser-integrated client is impossible to find, I'd welcome any suggestions for good, simple Mac-compatible Twitter clients. Thank you! [more inside]

I have tried to figure out Twitter on my own for over a year. I still don't get it. I googled articles. I emailed people and asked questions. I paid attention when it came up in conversation in online forums. I finally screwed up my courage and set up an account, even though I didn't know how to use it. At some point, I asked someone I met in person about it. But I am still doing it Rong. So Rong in fact that I just stopped bothering to try. [more inside]
