Which Selling Platform is Best?

I am working on a list since 2004 that I think would be salable. It's publicly available contact information for radio, TV, magazines, syndicates, newspapers, book publishers and agents. I need recommendations for TV shows, audiodramas and audiobooks that I can really sink my teeth into. Audio solution for apartment: iPod + TV

I live in an apartment and I'd like some sort of speaker/sound system to plug my iPod/iPhone into for playing music. Additionally, if possible, I'd like this solution to allow me to plug my TV into it and get better sound out of that. I know next to nothing about speakers or what I'd want (soundbar? Normal speakers?) so any general information would be welcome. I'm not looking for a multiple-speaker setup but just something that would enhance both my music and TV sound. Thanks for the help.

Does Breaking Bad get better?

I watched the first three episodes of Breaking Bad. The premise is interesting to me, but it was too violent for my taste. I was surprised it had a 12+ rating where I live, usually those shows are totally fine for me. I want to give Breaking Bad a chance (I like the premise and the person I'm watching it with does like the show so far) but not if it keeps going on like this, where the main characters keep killing people. Of course I understand that in a series about drug dealing people are going to die, so I guess I'm mainly concerned about the frequency, the way it goes, and the way it's handled. Also, at the moment I feel that nobody is really likeable on the show. Would like to hear if other people who felt the same way after the first few episodes think I should keep watching.

Why do we use "radio station" and "TV channel"?

I know that we have TV stations, actual buildings where the broadcast originates, and if you're not getting a clear signal on a radio frequency you might say "try another channel" on a walkie-talkie. But when it comes to the device in your home and you want to alter the signal coming in, you "change the channel" on the TV and you "change the station" on the radio. Why these terms for these devices?

Name of old panel show

I'm trying to find the name of an old panel-style game show that freaked me out as a kid. The show would have celebrity panelists, and at the end of the show they would squish the celebrities into discs so that could easily store them until they needed them again. This would have been mid-80s, most likely.

What is this half-remembered snippet about karaoke and "chick songs"?

I have a snippet of a movie or TV show (maybe a cartoon?) that's been rattling around my head for the past month or so and I can't pin down where it's from or if it was just a dream I once had.
A male character is singing karaoke and the audience is booing and heckling him. One of the hecklers mocks his song choice by yelling out, "That's a chick song." The male character retorts, "No it's not! It's a song to get chicks."
Does this ring a bell with anyone? Bonus internet points for a video clip (partial credit for just the song).

I want to live in the 20s & 30s. What TV / movies should I watch?

I've been completely absorbed in British fiction from the 1920s & 30s lately - mostly of the snappy, witty detective variety: Georgette Heyer, Dorothy Sayers, Agatha Christie. I've also read and adored the incomparable Wodehouse and Nancy Mitford. Now, the question is, what should I watch that will scratch this same itch for sparkling conversation, sophistication, romance and great clothes? I'm open both to original time period stuff and well done more contemporary versions of the period. If it's streaming on Netflix or Amazon, I can watch it. [more inside]

TV Commerical Search: People Yell "LAYUP"

Trying to find a commercial from the mid 90s (?). There's a guy talking about a basketball legend. The way he describes this legend goes something like this: "One day he was raining 3s from the sky" "He would pull up from 25 feet and people on the sidelines would be yelling LAYUP" My Google Fu has failed me, since I don't know what product was being advertised. Ideally, I'm looking for a video link, but would settle with knowing what was being advertised.

Identify a TV documentary (1990s) about life in the jungle (audio clip)

My father and I watched a documentary on TV in the 90s (likely TVO in Canada, possibly a National Geographic production?). It was about a boy named Ali who lived in the jungle with his father. It showed their daily life, how they hunted for food, etc. One scene I clearly remember is the father teaching the son how to create poison darts using toads. I believe the title was "Ali's Jungle", but I can't find any references to it on the internet. My dad and I really enjoyed the theme song, which was hummed by the father as he played a thumb piano. Here is a recording my father made at the time: Theme Song Any help identifying this show would be appreciated!
