Does anyone know where I can find footage of the 60s-era French television Dim Dam Dom?

I've just bought a shiny new LCD television. It's very beautiful but there's a serious problem with audio and video synchronisation. Sounds come out, then the lips move. The effect is weird. It hadn't occurred to me that this was a problem but apparently it is
, a known one. Is there anything I can do? [more inside]

Can someone tell me the name of this TV movie?
There are some spoilers here if you haven't seen this, but there's no other way to try to identify it.

I have an old Intel Celeron 501MHz PC sitting around collecting dust. I'm wondering whether it would be suitable as a video server for my television, assuming I upgrade it with WiFi and a TV card. I don't have/want cable, so I don't necessarily need TiVo-like capabilities, but it would be nice to have something that could access my WiFi network, grab my downloads (mostly fansubbed anime, foriegn shows, etc.), and play them on the home theatre system. Is it worthwhile to use such a system for this purpose? Is there a more elegant solution that I'm overlooking that doesn't involve burning a ton of DVDs?

Is TIVO dying?
I was about to buy a Tivo Box (I have DVR from Time Warner and it sucks) when a friend of mine mentioned that he heard that Direct TV was dropping Tivo and hinted that the company (tivo) was hemorrhaging money. I am a little concerned that I may buy a box and service that won't exist in 6 months...
Has anyone else heard anything on this?

He also wants to be able to scroll internal company info accross the screen (Welcome Clients, Happy Birthday, Sales Numbers etc.)
Anyone ever done this or know how it can get done?

I'd like to be able to watch tv and record it on my G4 iBook. I know that there are a plethora of ways to do this on the PC side, with a special card or whatnot. Is there a (cheap!) way to do this with my mac? It has to be external, obviously, since I'm going to be using it with the iBook.

Let's say that you have a nice, big flat panel monitor, such as the ones referred to in this recent AskMe thread
. What does it take to use such a monitor as a TV? Especially hoping for a device that doesn't require a computer. How much do such things cost?

Where can I find a sound file (preferably freely accessible) of Richard Nixon going "Sock it ... to ME?!" (I believe that's the inflection he gave it.) It was from the September 16, 1968 episode of "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In." No luck with Google-fu.

Trying to use a 17 LCD monitor as TV with my VCR. Where can I get something, hopefully not too expensive, to connect the RCA composite output to the VGA input of the monitor. Not sure if i need to find a converter box or some adapter cables exist to do the job. Did not find much useful info by googling.

: Can anyone identify this TV ad that ran a few years back? A young man is packing up his car for college and his father is there saying goodbye. Very emotional. The mother is noticeably absent. The father goes inside to find the mother--not sad as expected--excitedly measuring up the son's room for a new hot tub that she's going to install. Can anyone tell me the company and/or a place where I could download the ad? Thanks.

When I was in elementary school (mid-late 70's) there used to be a Christian tv drama that I would watch on Sundays when nothing else was on. I remember the production values as being fairly poor, and it was usually somewhat depressing, with characters yelling at each other and a moral at the end that no one could miss. Elizabeth Taylor was on one episode. Was it made by the Lutherans? Google hasn't helped me.

My TV broke, and I am bored now. It is a Sony Videoscope XBR, 50 something inches, projection TV. I bought it maybe 4-5 years ago from circuit city. When I turn it on the sound works fine, but the picture starts getting crackly then it gets wavy and starts to disapear culminating in the whole picture collapsing into itself. [more inside]
