The opening credits to "Law and Order" are made out of photographs, some of the cast, and others of police and courtroom scenes. Are any of the "real life" photographs famous for reasons other than being part of this credit sequence? What are they, and where can I find them? [more inside]

I'm looking for fictional intragenerational incest narratives -- books, film, television, etc. -- in which the relationship is presented as a tragic love, doomed to failure. I'm not interested in the probably more common (and more realistic) pure trauma narratives. The relationship need not necessarily be physically consummated. [more inside]

TV FILTER: I am looking for the name of a 70s-80s home repair/gardening TV show, and the female host's name. I used to watch the show, in syndication, on local Seattle TV in the early 80s. I believe the show was made in Canada, but maybe the US. The hostess was a thin woman with light brown hair and the shows premise was that she was a housewife working on her house and garden while the husband was away. They had a dog. She would have sections on the show showing how to pot plants, change light bulbs, grout tile, etc....>

What tv news shows skillfully cover the news of the day, and offer a bit of analysis, in 30 minutes?
I love that ESPN's Pardon the Interruption takes only 30 minutes each day to not only cover the biggest sports events of the day, but to also provide some analysis and decent interviews with people in the news. Bonus points, at least for me, on the show's humor and personality. I'd love to find another show that does the same thing with national and world news. Looking for something 30 minutes long (or less, if the front end of some larger thing works), that's smart and quickly paced - NPR's top of the hour update fleshed out a bit and filtered through that PTI sensibility. Can anyone recommend the best way to watch movies, stored as avi's or mpeg's on a MacBook Pro, on a Sony Wega TV that's about eight years old? Is something like Apple TV the best, or a device like the Galaxy Tvisto Amazon used to sell? I realize my relatively old-school TV may make things harder...
A couple months ago, I sold my old Sony Trinitron and gave up TV. It's been fantastic and I haven't really looked back. But I *have* been missing watching movies on a screen bigger than my 15” laptop. I've also always wanted a bigger monitor for my laptop, so I can juggle more projects at once. So I'm starting to look around for a large LCD monitor or sizable HDTV to serve these needs. I've had a couple co-workers at previous jobs tell me they use an LCD TV as a monitor and they swear by it for cost savings and multi-functionality. [more inside]

How do I find a list of publicists for stars of the theatrical stage or screen? Basically, I can be a hero if I can find celebrities currently in London, England recognizable to a Canadian audience. We need to hire them for a charming bit on our show... but the ones on our short list have not turned out. Therefore, I am now looking to get in touch with an appropriate publicist who has LOTS of clients and who can make suggestions as to who we should use, and then give them to us. [more inside]
