I have public wi-fi at my new apartment, and am able to stream Netflix just fine via a friend's laptop. I am not sure if there is a way for my Apple TV (2nd gen) to work here. I have googled around and others seemed to be able and others not. Normally when using my home computer or kindle tablet, I have to connect to wi-fi after a given period of time left unattended and then click "connect" from a browser page so perhaps this is why the ATV2 cannot work. Any thoughts?
Thanks and have a good Thanksgiving!

What channels can I get from a tuner card in NYC using just the antenna? No cable hookup or FIOS or any of that fancy sh*t. I plug the card into the computer, I put the antenna in the window, I activate the relevant programs, and . . . . ?

I had an idea in which I set up a Slingbox on a spare cable box at my parents' house and watch it on the TV at my house, thus eliminating my own need to subscribe to cable. Is this crazy enough to work?

I work for a smallish Phone/TV/Internet company. We believe our network is really the best available, and our service is great, but customers are leaving us at a higher rate than we would like. (not "We're doomed!" levels, but still more than we would like). We are trying to think of "outside the box" ideas to retain and potentially add customers.

I am going to buy an LED TV with an ethernet connection that says it is netflix, facebook etc compatible. I can run an ethernet cable from my cable modem. Do I need anything else? How do I navigate around? Do I use my remote for selecting movies? Does HULU or VUDU require additional equipment? Any help would be appreciated. Or point me to a website if you know of one. Thanks!

how can I watch BBC's iPlayer in the US? A one-step solution is ideal, without having to install and configure a system-wide proxy (which is the current way I can think of doing it). Some software or plugin custom-setup for iPlayer?

What's the best way to watch live tv (sports mainly) on a PC? My gf's parents have a vacation cabin with only internet access and they want to be able to watch live sports while they are there. What's the best option. Her mother asked me about "Digital TV for PC" but I think it's a scam. They do have full cable at their main home so I was thinking of advising Slingbox. Anything else out there that won't require me installing hardware at their main home?
Thanks!
