I could have sworn that I read something by Jeffrey Steingarten in which he encourages his readers to cook a turkey roast made of turkey breast, herbs, and possibly other meats tied together with twine, instead of fussing with a full sized bird. It's not in The Man Who Ate Everything, however. Does anyone remember this?
Or, could someone recommend an easy to make, impressive main dish for our Christmas dinner?

I purchased a brightly-colored, embroidered tapestry from the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. It is certainly not an antique, but it is hand-made, delicate and somewhat old. My well-intentioned (but perhaps lacking in common sense) roomate threw it into the washing machine and, needless to say, the colors ran. Is there any way I can restore the tapestry to its former state or at least to some approximation of such? Would a dry cleaner be able to help?

I cannot find a fresh Butterball Turkey - even called them, but this time of the year they only have frozen.
How can I make a regular turkey into a Butterball type turkey? I have heard that one can put butter under the skin, inject it, baste it etc.
Any proven method suggestions out there?
