I am travelling for four days to Turkey's capital. My hotel is in downtown Ankara and I have been told I should take bus 442 and get off at Kizilay city center, which is a 5-minute-walk away (hotel at Kültür Mh.Ataç-2 Sokak No:46). Does anyone know the area? Any major landmark(s) I should pay attention to so as not to miss my stop? How viable are EGO buses to get around? (I'll also need to travel daily to the university Cebeci Campus)

My partner and I will be in Turkey later this month and will have three days in and around Izmir. We plan to visit Ephesus, the Dilek park, as well as maybe Samos and/or Chios. We need some help making decisions about how to get around and where in the area to stay for a few nights.

My fiancee and I are considering Turkey for our honeymoon next October. Should we take a pre-arranged tour or book all our own hotels, in-country travel, etc.? Our considerations are money and how much effort it will be to plan a long trip to a new place in addition to a wedding.

I want to like dark meat, really I do. I hate letting food go to waste, but invariably, when we cook a whole bird, we let the back half of it sit in the fridge until one of us throws it out.

We purchased a precooked turkey for Thanksgiving from Zabar's. We are getting ready to heat it up. The turkey is wrapped tightly in an open weave netting type bag which is tied shut. It is then has a clear plastic bag over it. The instructions say: Do not remove from oven proof bag. We are several idiots in disagreement about whether the plastic bag is the oven proof bag. Is there someone here (preferable who has ordered from Zabar's) who can clarify?

Kosher substitute for salt pork? We want to make an America's Test Kichen recipe for Thanksgiving turkey. It calls for salt pork to be laid along the back of the turkey during the first part of the roasting process (with the breast-side down),
like so. ATK says this is called "barding" the turkey, which they say makes the bird "self-basting."

Due to very busy schedules, the earliest time we can take a vacation this year is the second half of October. We originally planned to go to Turkey, but Lonely Planet says that Cappadocia basically shuts down due to cold in mid October. So is that true, and if so, what other similar places would you suggest for a week at that time of year, in Europe? A little culture would be nice, since the rest of the tip will be spent in the Greek isles.

Does anyone know the name of this music video that was very popular in Turkey the last few months: the artist is a woman singing in Hindi (I think); the song is about 'different colors' (we are all different) and has diverse characters - with a lot of diverse styles. It is a real catchy song and a the video is full of beautiful colors.
