Kitchen storage dilemma

[KitchenStorageFilter]: OK, this is pretty mundane, but we'd like to toss our old kitchen storage/Tupperware-wannabee containers and would appreciate some recommendations so we can replace them with something good. These sorts of purchases seem to persist for a very long time, so I want to make a good decision this time around. The last time we did this was 10+ years ago with an extended set from Costco, and those containers sucked.

I've recently seen the Snapware containers at Costco and Target, and they seem to have some attractive qualities: removable rubber seals, compact storage, fairly cheap, etc. So for purposes of getting a conversation started, I'll put those out there as something we're looking at, but I worry that the hinges on the sides of the lid will fail pretty quickly.

Last data point: We use these mostly for leftovers stored in the refrigerator, so they don't travel much, however, they will be subject to a horrific number of hot/cold and wet/dry cycles.

Possibly Illegal Tupperware Spam

I have a name and contact info for the individual who's been spamming me. What can I do to report him/get rid of him/make his life difficult? Details inside. I've been getting Tupperware spam for a while now. The email has no unsubscribe link (does that technically make it illegal spam?) so I hit reply and wrote "please unsubscribe me from this list." I was surprised when I not only got a response, but a fairly self-incriminating one at that (full text is below). I could just send it to the spam folder (I'm using gmail), but the audacity of this guy is really getting under my skin. Any suggestions on who/what I can report him to?
I don't want to delete the email - it's spam and I want to be removed from the list.
How to safely clean this stinky food container?

How do I safely clean a very stinky glass dish with plastic Tupperware-style lid that sat out on the counter for days after holding smoked mackerel? I have a glass dish with a plastic Tupperware-style lid that I used to store smoked mackerel in the fridge last week.

After the mackerel was finished, I didn't get around to washing the dish, which was mostly empty but still had oils and small fish bits in it. It sat out, sealed, on the counter, for several days (and a couple of those were very warm days).

I just opened the dish to wash it and it was really, really rank (more so than I've ever smelled it). Are there extra steps that I should take to safely clean this container and continue to use it (and avoid any foodborne illnesses)?

Tupperware with a single lid size?

Does anyone know if they make a Tupperware or Tupperware-like food storage container system that has one interchangeable lid size for all the different bins? I have a lot of bins and a lot of lids of different sizes and it can get frustrating. I thought they made one that had lids all the same size for easy use, but I cannot find it. I could have sworn I saw an ad for something like this a few years ago.

Looking for food storage solutions...

Food storage. What are your recommended brands of containers and techniques for storing fruits, nuts, powders, herbs, vegetables, etc? Some of my requirements/concerns are inside. I'm searching for the ultimate containers... some of the factors to consider:

- preferably glass though good plastic is acceptable
- air tight
- stackable when not in use
- clear so it's easy to see what's inside
- has some reusable way of marking contents or dates
- available in various sizes
- can be used in the freezer (I don't require them to be oven safe or microwaveable)
- can be bought online or are available in Toronto

Now, I don't expect to find all of the requirements in each container but it would be nice.

What are your suggestions?

Let them eat cake

Help me transport food in comfort, if not in style. I'm dependant on public transport to get around, and I seem to need to transport food to a friends' party or dinner or to work potlucks quite regularly. Carrying a cake or devilled eggs on a plate is a pain in the old orange-feathered ass.

It would be great to have some sort of round tupperware-style, hard-form container that will hold a standard dinner plate (so about 36" in circumference), is perhaps four or five inches deep, and has handles on top to make for easier carrying. I've checked some discount stores without seeing anything to suit my purposes. Does anything like this exist?
