Google-fu has the flu. Need a Tumblr theme with the following characteristics: responsive design; minimal (aesthetically); single-column layout; no sidebar; supports tags; displays tags on homepage; supports tag pages; supports google analytics; has searchbox; has social media sharing on posts (including minimally twitter, facebook & tumbler); has section somewhere for "about site owner--brief bio, site owner's social media follow icons (minimally twitter, but fb, linkedin, & pinterest would be grand) & an email contact link; customizable color palette. Love the look of Firefly, Footnote, & Simplist as aesthetic examples but both are lacking a few key things. Sadness. Most of the posts will be text, so a site geared toward photogs isn't ideal as there is usually so much white space. That's an issue with Simplist. Thanks for using your noodle on my behalf. Appreciate the suggestions.
I've been working on an exciting food project near and dear to me. But I'm unsure which platform would be better suited to its needs. [more inside]

I am about to launch a project that I think will get a lot of attention. I have personal/business social media accounts already, but do I need a second set of social media accounts just for this project to keep my personal/business ones from getting cluttered?
The Tumblr iPad app doesn't have a proper editor (looks like all I can do is choose a type of post, add tags and post). Can anyone recommend a good text editor app for iPad that is similar to the online version of Tumblr (allowing me to insert photos, add links, italics, bold, etc, as well as switch between the WSYWIG editor and HTML views? I like reading the blog Fosterhood, but ever since I moved last week and got new internet from TWC (not sure if it has anything to do with it, but that's the timing) I'm only getting this on the loading page: "Not Found The URL you requested could not be found." I can access material in archives that has been posted since the move so I think it's me and not the site. How do I fix it? [more inside]
I'm hoping to find a user script for Tumblr that will go from the default 1 column layout to something that has 5-6 columns to take advantage of my widescreen monitor. I've found a userscript that gets partway there ("minimal three column layout"), but it suppresses the Like & Repost buttons. I've tried modifying it to have 5 columns instead of three, but I don't know java for beans. Would someone in the hivemind be able to tweak this appropriately, or know another way to get a better layout?

I'm using Tumblr for the first time (link in profile) and posting lots of quotes (as 'text') every day. I don't want to spam people or muck up their dashboard, so please enlighten me about bad or annoying things people do on Tumblr so I can learn from their mistakes.
Tumblr recently switched out their flash-based music player with a new, more mobile-friendly one. That's good, except the new one is devastatingly ugly and has totally different proportions. I'm not even sure it's displaying correctly - the arrow is off-center, the text looks wonky. I have been trying in vain to find ways of fiddling with its attributes, but the ones exposed are very limited. Has anyone else noticed this problem with the look, and has anyone had any success in customizing it? [more inside]
II am trying to get a handle on web content and which content has, overall, the best stickiness. Sites like YouTube, Tumblr, Flickr are, as near as I can tell, mostly visual. Blog and microblogging sites like Wordpress and Twitter are word based. Quora, Reddit and Metafilter are information sharing communities. Podcasts and music sites like MySpace or Soundcloud are, for the most part, sound focused. And then you have sites like Facebook and Google+ that are trying to combine the best of all of them. I post a lot of pictures to tumblr from other devices, and I'd like to have copies of the images on my own computer. Is there a program for OSX that will let me download every image off my tumblr at once?

Is there (a) such a thing as "companion themes" for WordPress and Tumblr and, if so, (2) where do I find them...? Yeah, so, my new personal project is about writing, not design (which is where all the time goes that I think I should be spending writing...) I want to collate images from Tumblr blogs onto my own Tumblr blog, then write about (some of?) the images and post it on a WordPress blog that's parked at my personal URL. Since I can't go all designery and both platforms are theme-based, I'm wondering if anyone's seen what I'll call "companion themes," for lack of a better term: themes that are adapted for the specific features of each platform, but that share at least a common aesthetic, if not full UI.

I am having trouble manually installing Disqus on my Tumblr. The theme is Lines. When I follow the suggestions on Disqus' site, it causes the "# comments" part to all show up on the most recent post, rather than one link next to each post. So right now there are three "0 comments" links next to my most recent post. I'm not very familiar with HTML, and each place I've tried to put the code hasn't fixed the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I have a self-hosted WordPress blog in which every post is an image (with alt-text) and a single comment. I'd like to move this material over to a Tumblr blog. The site has two years' worth of material, with about three posts per week. I've done a Google search and it seems there are three methods for migrating WordPress content to Tumblr. All involve exporting the WordPress Blog to XML first, which I've done. [more inside]
I am too disorganized to blog consistently, but I'm also way too verbose for Twitter. Is there a blogging platform that exists somewhere between these two extremes? Is there a platform that's kind of like Facebook as a blog? Do I want a Tumblr? [more inside]
Is there a better way to create Tumblr themes than using the "Customize Theme" window? Specifically, what I'd like to do is use a desktop text editor and be able to preview changes to the theme layout offline instead of in the browser window. Is there some application or plugin (for Dreamweaver or similar) that will make this possible? Mac/PC agnostic. [more inside]

I'm new to Tumblr. Which are the best Tumblrblogs to follow, particularly in the realms of literature/arts/film/tv/comics/culture, science fiction, stand-up comedy and comedy podcasting, lefty politics, and MetaFilter-style "potpourri"? Thanks in advance.
I'm with a buddy working on his Tumblr page. We've noticed more and more visits from iOS devices and this shuts them out of his audio posts because Tumblr uses Flash. Is there any way around this with html5 plugins that support Tumblr and actually do? I am googled out with this. So much conflicting information. With so many visits from iPads (especially), it seems there has to be a way. Any help would be appreciated. As always, thanks in advance!
