Google-fu has the flu. Need a Tumblr theme with the following characteristics: responsive design; minimal (aesthetically); single-column layout; no sidebar; supports tags; displays tags on homepage; supports tag pages; supports google analytics; has searchbox; has social media sharing on posts (including minimally twitter, facebook & tumbler); has section somewhere for "about site owner--brief bio, site owner's social media follow icons (minimally twitter, but fb, linkedin, & pinterest would be grand) & an email contact link; customizable color palette.
Love the look of Firefly, Footnote, & Simplist as aesthetic examples but both are lacking a few key things. Sadness. Most of the posts will be text, so a site geared toward photogs isn't ideal as there is usually so much white space. That's an issue with Simplist.
Thanks for using your noodle on my behalf. Appreciate the suggestions.

I like reading the blog Fosterhood
, but ever since I moved last week and got new internet from TWC (not sure if it has anything to do with it, but that's the timing) I'm only getting this on the loading page: "Not Found
The URL you requested could not be found." I can access material in archives that has been posted since the move so I think it's me and not the site. How do I fix it? [more inside]

I'm hoping to find a user script for Tumblr that will go from the default 1 column layout to something that has 5-6 columns to take advantage of my widescreen monitor.
I've found a userscript that gets partway there ("minimal three column layout"
), but it suppresses the Like & Repost buttons. I've tried modifying it to have 5 columns instead of three, but I don't know java for beans.
Would someone in the hivemind be able to tweak this appropriately, or know another way to get a better layout?

Tumblr recently switched out their flash-based music player with a new, more mobile-friendly one. That's good, except the new one is devastatingly ugly and has totally different proportions. I'm not even sure it's displaying correctly - the arrow is off-center, the text looks wonky. I have been trying in vain to find ways of fiddling with its attributes, but the ones exposed are very limited. Has anyone else noticed this problem with the look, and has anyone had any success in customizing it? [more inside]

My Tumblr has stopped posting entries. It’s only my third day. It previews nicely but disappears when I hit the “post” button. What could the problem be? I have an email into Tumblr but their help page was so unhelpful I am not hopeful.

I have a self-hosted WordPress blog in which every post is an image (with alt-text) and a single comment. I'd like to move this material over to a Tumblr blog. The site has two years' worth of material, with about three posts per week.
I've done a Google search and it seems there are three methods for migrating WordPress content to Tumblr. All involve exporting the WordPress Blog to XML first, which I've done. [more inside]

I'm new to Tumblr. Which are the best Tumblrblogs to follow, particularly in the realms of literature/arts/film/tv/comics/culture, science fiction, stand-up comedy and comedy podcasting, lefty politics, and MetaFilter-style "potpourri"? Thanks in advance.

How can I add a comments box to my tumblr blog? Tumblr says they have an option to install but it doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas?

I have a website with the domain registered via namecheap, and the hosting via NearlyFreeSpeech. The setup works fine for static content, but I'd like to get a tumblr blog that can be reached via my domain. Is this possible with this setup, or is the best I can hope for a link from a site hosted online? [more inside]

I want my tumblr 'likes' to be readable via RSS. Tumblr does allow you to export your data (including 'likes') by xml or json via their API
. Unfortunately I have no clue how to get started and would appreciate any help. Thanks.

Is their a service that would allow me to upload my images and embed them into my website in a particular style (see this link
for a crude mock-up). I also want the ability for the user to click on an image and for a bigger version to appear (using jQuery or some other javacript library). [more inside]

I'm hiring, and in addition to interviewing, checking references (official and un-), etc., I'd like to see how candidates are using Twitter, Facebook, and/or Tumblr. Facility with this stuff isn't a primary requirement of the job, but it's helpful; I also think it's a good way to gauge a candidate's judgement and to see how they manage their public face. On the other hand, it feels like following or friending is weird, or possibly an invasion of privacy. Is it?
