Best route for getting a time sensitive slogan out to the masses?

I have a ridiculously amazing, yet time sensitive slogan regarding a current event that I'd like to get out there real quick like. But I have some questions... I've spoken to a friend's trademark lawyer down in LA and since there's no product set up that the slogan would be attached to, I can't trademark it. I'm thinking my best bet is to have my lawyer draw up confidentiality and royalty agreements and then present those to the largest online retailer of this type of stuff. Obviously, only if they're willing to sign would I present them with the idea(s).

a) would those agreements be enough to keep them from simply copying my idea?
b) do you have any better ideas for getting something like this out there to the most amount of people quickly - on tshirts, bumper stickers, mugs, etc.?

I've also registered the slogan's domain, if that mattes.

Thanks in advance.

Startup tees in Boston?

Have any recommendations for a quality t-shirt screen printer in Kendall Square? I work for a tech startup in Kendall Square. We're making some tees, but I want some that are high quality. We'd rather spend more on great shirts than spend less on good shirts.

We're located in Kendall Square at the T stop, so I'd like someone close. However, if you've had a great experience with a company within greater Cambridge or Boston proper, feel free to recommend them as well.

Average tshirt sizes for elementary-aged kids

Looking for a chart or opinions on good average sizes to best suit a random sampling of elementary school kids. I need to provide t-shirts for a few kids in each grade, grades K-5, without knowing whom I'm buying it for ahead of time. Previous years have convinced me that I have absolutely no standard to go by, since with my own skinny kids as references I have bought too many dinky shirts. Ideally, what I'd base my order on would allot two sizes for each grade and I could total it up from there.

So as an example, it's obvious to me that a youth S is a safe bet for average kindergarteners, and I would also order M as the next size up. But my experience breaks down for any ages/grades after that.

This is the size chart for the brand I ordered last year: http://www.jerzees.com/29BR.shtml

I really like the fabric/material in the "Life is Good" shirts... They are comfortable and durable. I do NOT like paying $30 for screenprinted t-shirt, and I really don't wear logos. Can you direct me to plain (any color is fine) tshirts of this quality/construction? Whole-box options are fine as well, I can print my own or go blank.

When I find this shirt, some company is gonna be VERY happy

Help me find women's fitted boat-necked cap-sleeved or 3/4 length-sleeved shirts in a variety of solid colors!

(What, me picky?) So yes. I have recently found myself gravitating towards brightly colored or printed shirts and pants, and then realizing I have barely anything to wear with them. So I'd like to fill out my wardrobe with some reliable basic shirts in a ton of solid colors.

The problem is that I know what I like in a basic shirt and it's kind of super specific. I've found random shirts that fit these criteria in thrift stores, worn them to death, and then mourned them when they passed on. Alas I forgot to ever write down the brands...

So yes, to reiterate, we're talking:

-fitted/nipped in a bit at the waist
-boat-necked- don't like crew necks so much, HATE v-necks
-cap-sleeves or 3/4 length-sleeves (for summer/winter)
-fabric unimportant but I'm picturing t-shirt material as being the most likely candidate
-many, many available colors. Ideally I'd like cream, brown, dark and light grey, black, rose, and then a few brighter colors as well.

Since I want to buy so many, I'm being super picky about this and haven't yet found anything ideal. This is the basic shape I want for short sleeved tops but doesn't come in many colors, this is ok but the neck isn't quite right and it looks flimsy (especially the edging...)

Under $30 a pop would be ideal, and cheaper is better as long as they're ok quality.

The Legions of Rome, 201BC divsion champions!

Help me brainstorm for a new project! What are some iconic conflicts in history (not necessarily military)? I'm brainstorming for a new project and I'd love to get your help. I make "geek-friendly" t-shirts for a living and I like to do a new lineup each year. Previously my stuff was mostly Science / Philosophy based, but I've received a lot of e-mails asking me to do shirts for the history lovers out there, and I feel like it's about time I listened.

So my idea so far is to try and create sports team style logos, but for the participants in historical conflicts. Think a logo for "The Carthaginian War Elephants" instead of "The Tennessee Titans".

Right now I'm still pretty early in the brainstorming process, so I'm not sure if I'll do just single logos on a shirt, or pairs (like X vs Y). Also I might decide to include mythologies, or classic works of fiction.

Naturally there will be the possibility for things to get tasteless, so I'll be staying away from anything too recent or sensitive, but here's a few examples of the kinds of things I've been thinking:

2nd Punic War (the Legions of Rome vs. the Carthaginian War Elephants)

Sherman Anti-Trust Act (the Trustbusters vs the Robber Barons)

The Sinking of the Titanic (the Southampton Unsinkables vs the North Atlantic Icebergs)

Things like the Protestant Reformation also seems ripe for this.

Also if I do solo designs instead of (or in addition to) the "vs" designs then it wouldn't have to based on a conflict, it could just be a movement or event of importance. For example I could see just doing a design for the Renaissance Men of Florence, or say the suffragettes without having to have a specific competitor in mind.

Any ideas spring to mind?

Basic, boring, but durable t-shirts

Help me find durable, affordable basic t's and tops for ladies. (Size XXL) Preferably online. I've shopped at The Gap and Old Navy for ages. They have lots of basic layering tops and t-shirts, tanks, etc. that have kept me clothed through undergrad and grad school.

Sadly, they don't wash super well. The colors start to look faded pretty fast and I've noticed the sweaters snag really easily. I'm coming to the realization that I probably need to just invest the money in some shirts that last.

I'm a pretty boring dresser. I like basic t-shirts. No frills, no lace, no ruching, no dry clean only. 99% of what I own is a solid color with no labels or decoration. And I'm pretty happy with that. But where to find basic t's and tops that don't break the bank (ideally under 40 a piece, but maybe a bit more) and come in XXL? A lot of the places I've seen in stores, like the Limited, don't go up that large.

Share your favorite online retailers please!

All I want is the tee of my dreams.

I am looking for a 3/4 sleeve scoop-neck women's tee shirt, and I'm not sure where will meet my priorities. Help? It's not like I have a lot of criteria. It needs to be available in a 2XL/women's 18 kind of size range, not too expensive (under $30, but under $20 would be better), and actually opaque. Reasonable quality would be nice, but I'm not all that picky if it's cheap. Also not too picky about colors or whether it's online or in store, as long as it's a national chain.

For awhile I could find such things pretty easily, but now the last of my old favorites is falling apart, but my go-to places either haven't had them lately, or else they seem to expect the layering thing that I really don't want to do in warm weather. Or else they have boat necks, and I always end up with a bra strap showing in those.

Help me come up with math-themed "big brother"/"little sister" shirt designs for a friend's kids. I want to come up with some clever t-shirts for a friend's kids. She has two sons (ages 5 and 1.5) and just had twin daughters. She is an actuary. I would love to come up with some kind of design for the shirts that involves math or science or something like that.

I was trying to think of something involving HTML or some other programming language...maybe math formulas...heck, even Excel formulas. I tried looking at the periodic table of the elements for inspiration, but came up with nothing (their names can't be built out of the elements, I tried that.)

I just want something more clever than "big brother" and "little sister". Something that plays off the babies being twins (fraternal, otherwise I'd figure out something involving copying and pasting) would be cute, but not necessary.

Which sites feature daily new graphic t-shirt designs at cheap prices?

I'm a big follower of bot Shirt Woot and Teefury, both are sites that showcase a new t-shirt design a day at around ~$10 a shirt with cheap or free shipping. I recently discovered the existence of Ript Apparel, which is more or less similar to the previous sites. I feel that Woot and Teefury have both gotten a bit too nerd-pandering in recent years, and am interested in new sites. I'm not into T-Shirt Hell or Snorg Tees as they are often text-based designs and I'm not really into pithy jokes on my shirts. Uneetee is more of what I'm looking for, but I'm not too thrilled about their prices. Design By Humans with the daily $15 deal is more of what I'm looking for, though their designs may be a wee bit too artsy, and suffer from the opposite of Woot shirts- their designs cover too much of the shirt. Anybody have any suggestions at all? I quite understand if there aren't anymore similar t-shirt sites that fit these specifications, but given the explosion of graphic tees online, I don't think this is the most unrealistic question.

Blank, bulk versions of these EMS t-shirts?

I have a couple of EMS organic cotton graphic T-shirts like these, and I love them. The material is a bit thinner and stretchier than most tees, but still feels very supple and high-quality. Also, the fit is really nice - I particularly like that they're not quite as long as most tees are these days. I'm starting to think about making some graphic tees of my own design, and I'm wondering if there's a way figure out where these come from and get them for my own to use. The "tags" are just printed inside the collar and are branded "Eastern Mountain Sports." In addition, they say "Made in Peru" and "100% organic cotton."

Looking for nice T-Shirts

I'm trying to find some nice, solid color, everyday wear t-shirts in both short and long sleeve varieties. I am male, 5'10", ~235lbs. Most XL t-shirts are a hair too snug on me while most XXL are a fair amount too large. Athletic fit don't work for my build because, well, it's not athletic anymore.

Most of my t-shirts have come from Target but lately they all suck due to either uncomfortable cut, uncomfortable fabric or just severe overall reduction in quality over the past few years.

I am in the midwest. Where should I be looking or ordering from?

What are these white marks around the top of my shirt?

I have some odd white marks on a lot of my hanged t-shirts, not sure why. (Pics inside) Going through my hung (plastic hangers) t-shirts, and a lot of them have a marks on the top front of the shirt. It seems like it can be traced to where the hanger goes/is placed. I can rub the marks and they go away somewhat. This is going on with shirts I have not yet worn/washed, but also some older ones.

Some notes:
-Until recently, my closet was very crammed. I have moved things elsewhere and there is more space.
-A lot of these "new" tees were bought up to a year ago, and have not been worn (except maybe just to try it on once)
-There is storage above the clothes, with other hangers, a bag of bags, and other miscellaneous items.

I'm just not sure if it's dust or something else. The shirts are otherwise fine for the most part I just hope I don't have to replace all my tees. If anyone is familiar with this, please give me your feedback. I snapped a few pics, but am not sure if they will explain much. There is a red circle (put by me) near the affected area:
Looking for bulk shirts.

I'm looking to buy a bunch of non-plain but yes-simple men's T-shirts. Please help? Right now I have a couple dozen shirts from Old Navy that look kind of like this, but with much shorter sleeves, in 6-7 different color combinations. I got them on clearance a year or two ago for $5-6 each. I like them because they're simple for daily wear, but are also interesting to look at vs. a blank, plain one-color shirt.

The closest thing to what I'm looking for is this shirt. I purchased one to try out, and here's what I like about it: tight neck/collar, longer sleeves (the old ones stop a couple inches above my elbow, I like them elbow-length), interesting shape with the strips of a different color breaking up the shirt, it's a bit longer/taller than the current shirts, and it comes in a range of color combos. What I don't like is that it's 100% polyester, which is apparently bad for cleaning my glasses, and my nipples show through the thin fabric. I'm neutral on their price - $12 isn't bad, but I'd like something closer to $10, since I'd want to buy 2-4 of several different colors. I'd definitely go for this one if it weren't polyester.

Spreadshirt has something similar to that one, but it's $22 instead of $12; this is almost OK, but it has logos on it, and the only contrast is the different thread color; 6 Dollar Shirts only seems to do print shirts; American Apparel seems to love Flashdance collars on their plain shirts; the other bulk shirt sites I've seen like Outlet Shirts linked above seem to have the odd-color sleeve shirts I have now and the polyester shirt I almost like, then plain from there.

I'm not looking for print/logo/ThinkGeek/Woot-esque shirts for several reasons. I also lump ringer shirts in with the plain one-color shirts.

So a quick list to recap:

1. Plain non-print cloth, but not one-color.
2. Variety of color combos.
3. Tight collar, round, not V, not polo/buttonup.
4. Short sleeve, elbow length, not capri-pants (capri sleeve?) length.
5. Tall shirt length preferable.
6. Loose overall, not skintight.
7. Poly cotton cloth would be best, then cotton, then 100% polyester.
8. ~$10 price range.

Mickey Mouse's Ass on a T-Shirt?

Where can I get an old-school design "reversed-on-the-back" Mickey Mouse t-shirt? I'm not a big Disney nerd in the least, but I have had a hankering to own and wear a Mickey Mouse t-shirt that was popular when I was growing up in the later 70s and 80s.

The design consists simply of Mickey Mouse, striking a pose with one arm and foot pointing up in the air, with the words "Mickey Mouse" underneath him, in red cartoony block lettering. The back of this shirt is basically the same thing, but shows Mickey's backside, with the type under him reversed, as if you were standing behind him on a virtual "set"

The thing is, I have had almost no luck even finding an image of this shirt on Google Images, let alone finding a place that still sells them. The closest image I found was this, which portrays the correct Mickey pose, but I still can't find the corresponding "reversed" backside image. And I could've sworn that the image of Mickey on the original design was not as large as the example image shows (I recall it being at least 50% smaller).

I asked about this shirt at the World of Disney store at Disneyland today, and none of the 20-something employees seemed to have any idea what in the hell I was talking about. So I'm assuming this design is WAY the hell out-of-print.

This was a very popular shirt in my day, so I'd like to think that hardcore Disneyphiles have some kind of universally accepted nickname for this shirt design which I can use to target a Google search with. Any ideas?

Thanks for coming to my party, here's a present...

Instead of crappy party favors in a plastic bag, we're giving away locally-produced t-shirts to the kids at my son's 5th birthday party. Problem: what to put on them? After a slew of birthday parties this spring, after which he comes home each time toting a plastic bag or made-in-china tin bucket filled with crap we don't need that probably cost $10 per kid, I've decided to go a different way. For party favors, we're giving away t-shirts to all the kids that are being screened locally. (cost per shirt: $4.80+tax) The problem is I can't figure out what should go on them.

I don't want them to say "[name]'s Birthday Party". The shirts are red, with white printing. I can do any graphic image or text so long as it is a single color. Front or back only (no 2-sided designs).

Some ideas that we've generated:
- a simple kite image. (venue has a kite logo, but I haven't been able to find any simple, free kite art that I like)
- B is for Birthday (with cartoon bees around). (He likes bees, and the venue has a bee display as part of the "ranger station" room where the party will be held).
- a big number 5 (but not all the kids at the party will be 5 or turning 5 - some will be older - so I don't think they'll want to wear a shirt with a big 5 on the front).
- A big cupcake or birthday cake image (but too party specific?)

Of these, I like the kite the best, but I'm not totally thrilled with it, mostly because I can't find a graphic I'm really excited about.

So, hive mind - what would you put on these to make them the most awesome kid t-shirts ever?

Looking for the ideal solid t-shirt

I'm looking for high-quality solid t-shirts with a modern/tailored fit but not as tailored as American Apparel. It seems like plain t-shirts these days have really short sleeves and are made of a super thin fabric.

I'm looking for t-shirts that are heavier and not so small fitting, but also not unfashionably baggy.

The closest I've come to is Lands' End Tailored Super T's. Unfortunately, their quality control on these shirts is unbelievably bad. (I've kept 4 and returned 8.)

Everything seems to be really thin and really small, but I know my ideal shirt is out there. Any recommendations?

where are cool, artsy, non-touristy t-shirts to be found in nyc?

please help me find 4 special snowflake t-shirts in one day in nyc i've got 1 day, and $120, to buy 3 or 4 really great t-shirts. google overwhelms me with randomness and souvenirs, and online stores just don't work for me - with my less than ideal body type, i really need to try stuff on before i buy it, just to make sure it suits/flatters me. i live in the tropics, in a super-casual area, and good t-shirts are a) hard to find there and b) more or less my only form of self expression in dressing. so i'm determined to bring back a great new wardrobe from nyc, where i will have exactly one day to shop.

i'm looking for artsy, cool, random, unique, and/or dj oriented shirts in the $30-$40 price range. hopefully they'll be high quality, and perhaps even look like i spent a bit of bread on them, without getting all ed hardy $200 tshirt-esque. a handful of cool stores within walking distance of each other would be awesome, but i'm happy to hop on and off the subway and walk a ways between each shop if that's what it takes. any suggestions?

my gender (male) may be a factor in your recommendations, so i should probably mention it.

Can anyone identify the T-shirt brand/design on the terrorist in these CCTV screen captures (linked)? How about the sneakers? Need help for a journalism project and couldn't think of where else to turn but MeFi. The subject in the photo is one of the gunmen involved in the November 2008 attacks in Mumbai. Several of the gunmen were wearing very weird items of clothing, some of them knockoffs, and this is (trust me!) central to a project I'm working on. The elements at bottom right (our bottom right) resemble stylized waves, or cobras, or maybe a heart, and they seem likely to be the logo. The figure at top left looks like a human head or else the head of a leopard/other large cat. Anyone? Name that shirt?

Bonus question: The brand of sneakers?
Where do bootleg concert shirts come from?

I saw Pearl Jam the other night in Boston (incredible show!), and as we spent 45 minutes waiting to get out of the garage, we saw the bootleg shirt sellers drop prices to the point that one guy just gave them away. It got me wondering about the actual process and distribution system of these shirts. Like start to finish, how does it work? Who designs them? Who puts up the money? Are they local or do they follow the band (which seems unlikely since they are literally giving shirts away sometimes)? Is there like a bootleg shirt distributor that people order from?

I haven't really been able to find any information with my sometimes weak googling skills, so any information would be appreciated.

Help me find an online store selling tons of cool, design-y local-interest T-shirts This may have been linked on AskMe but damned if I can find it. They had a very large number of local- and regional-interest t-shirts with frequently very "designy" designs. For example, there were a ton about Cleveland, and many about Akron as well. That level of specificity. It wasn't threadless, bustedtees or anything that jokey; these tended toward the local pride angle. Any ideas?
