Flight with formula fed, crawling baby

I'm finding mixed facts and advice regarding how much prepared formula you can bring on international flights? I am flying solo with a 10 month old (first flight) next month and I'm trying to figure out if I can put water into 3 seperate bottles (4 oz each), if I can pre-mix some of the formula, and how much. I am trying to avoid making the bottles after I go through security as I will be on my own and making bottles before/during flight seems impossible especially if I have to buy chilled water. She will drink room temperature water so the only thing I can think is to fill her bottles with mixed formula or just water so that it is room temperature on the plane. I am very stressed about traveling alone for the first time so I am trying to make it easier on mylsef. We have a connecting flight that allows us 45 minutes in order to reach our international destination (the flights are 2.5 & 3 hours long), right around bed time so she will need about 4 bottles. Also, should I bring my stroller even though we dont have time on lay over, it seems if I gate check it I worry it will hold me up waiting on it, when I just need it for the destination.

Durable, metal-free belt?

For at least the immediate future I'll need pass through security in a federal courthouse without the benefit of employee ID, which means going through a metal detector. I need a durable, metal-free belt (leather or otherwise) that fits standard 35mm belt loops and looks reasonably presentable in a casual-end-of-business-casual environment. Thanks!

How do airlines predict TSA capacity on a certain day?

Clothing Security tag left on skirt, issue at airport?

First world problem: Went to go pack for Holiday flight today. Opened an order I placed from Macy's.com and somebody left the hard tag sensor on it... sigh. I don't have time to take skirt and receipt into the store before flight. Can I pack this in my bag I'm checking so I can bring it into Macy's when I get there? Or do you think it will set off some kind of security thing when they scan it? I'm overthinking, as usual! Pic attached [more inside]

I have a 16-oz tub of raw, unrefined shea butter that I'd like to bring with me. I don't have a checked bag. What's in a name (to the TSA)?

I'm flying from the West Coast to the East Coast of the US in 24 hours and was about to check in when I realized my name was wrong on the itinerary. Say my name is Katie Smith - it's listed in my booking as Katiems Smith. I'm pretty sure Google Flight just mashed together my first name and Ms., but now it's appears at Katiems on the itinerary and obviously my passport and driver's license say Katie. What to do? Cintiq through airport screening?

Can I take a Cintiq digitiser tablet through airport screening without getting it confiscated? The Cintiq requires mains power to work. (It doesn't have a battery, & was never designed to work with one). I think it's understandable that I wouldn't want to check this in as hold baggage. It's easy to mistake the thing for a tablet that "suspiciously does nothing" when not plugged in to the wall. UK-US trip. [more inside]

Does TSA ever just wave people through?

I flew home through a major US airport a couple of days ago. I'd just put my carry-on stuff on the conveyor and lined up with several others for the dreaded bodyscanner when the TSA agent waved four of us around the machine and over to pick up our stuff. I was delighted not to have to go through the scanner, but I've never seen anyone just waved on through before. How often do they let people bypass the scan? [more inside]

Wads of small bills at JFK Airport - how to change?

This past weekend I had a huge moving sale, and ended up with about $1500 in small bills ($1s, $5s, $10s, $20s). Between cleaning my apartment and packing everything up today, I forgot to go to the bank and deposit the money into my account. Tomorrow morning I fly out of JFK (Terminal 4, specifically) to move to San Francisco, and since my flight is early there's no time to go to a bank. I feel weird traveling with these huge wads of cash, especially as it's all small bills. Right now it's all stuffed into a cigar box in my carry-on. I don't think it will fit in my wallet. Will the currency exchange places give me $100s (or better yet a money order) for my cash, and will I find one before passing through security? Will TSA steal from me, or give me a hard time for carrying these wads of bills? Is there possibly a Bank of America branch in JFK? What should I do? I don't think I'm comfortable depositing this much cash through an ATM, and anyway it would take forever.

Extent of "grope/enhanced patdown"???

I'm going to be flying next month, and I'm already annoyed/upset, etc... about the pornoscanners and groping issue, but I'm even more nervous now due to one article I read and am wondering if I'm misunderstanding the groping issue and it is actually WORSE than I already believe it to be: Is the "enhanced patdown" an actual under/inside the clothes grabbing of genitals? I can't find a clear statement on the TSA site (great PR, not so great information architecture) and one blog explicitly detailed the touching of her labia but other blog posts I've seen can be read either way (as underclothes contact or overclothes, they're not particularly clear). Help???
