I've got maybe a day to kill with my wife and kid in Baltimore... never really been there before, so what are some must-see things in the area? I've vaguely heard something about cherry blossoms... when do those bloom or where is the best place to view them? I'll be going in mid-April, so I've got some time to plan. TIA!

Does anyone have any really cheap vacation secrets? I'm looking for inexpensive, do-it-yourself getaways to relaxing locales, that don't depend upon me perusing scammy travel websites.

My brother (18) and I (23) are in the Frankfurt area visiting relatives. We're looking for interesting and fun day trips in and around Frankfurt (let's say anywhere within about a 2 hour train ride) for this weekend and next week: museums, festivals, interesting places to grab a drink, cool shops or places/neighborhoods we should just plain walk around and see. We don't have a car so everything needs to be accessible by public transport. Thanks!

It'll be four of us (two couples) and we're planning to stay somewhere in Harbor County for a couple of nights before heading to another part of Michigan for a wedding. We plan to hit the wineries and do some general poking around and relaxation. Anyone had good experience with cottages/companies in that area?
I'm a bit overwhelmed by all of the offerings online, so would appreciate direction! Thank you!

I'm working on a project for my health class that requires us to explain the effects of certain types of drugs, and my topic is hallucinogenic substances. I'm looking for some kind of video that can demonstrate the images/patterns/sounds that can be common for someone to see during an LSD trip. Does anyone either have a video in mind, or a place where I might be able to find a video that's similar to what I'm describing?

I went on a really good "alternative" day trip to the Scottish Highlands with
this company when I was in Edinburgh last week, and am now looking for recommendations for entertaining and offbeat guided tours and daytrips in other places. There are some good suggestions
here for walking tours but I'm also interested in bus/coach/cycling etc.

My 7 year old nephew is a real city kid who rarely gets out of his Brooklyn neighborhood. I'm thinking of renting a car this Saturday, and busting him out of the city. What are great places to visit or activites to do within an hour and a half drive of the city?

Hi. Two questions related to an upcoming family trip - from Toronto to Brussels:
- cost-effective (but not too tiring) ways to get from Toronto to Brussels? Non-stop flight? Connect elsewhere (London, Paris, Frankfurt, ...)? Fly into large hub (Paris, Frankfurt, ...) and book secondary flight or train?
- things to do in Brussels with a 4-year-old?

Spring Break just started for my girlfriend and I, and we're having trouble coming up with things to do. I live in Pittsburgh, and we've thought about checking out the city, but I'm not sure where to go (Other than the Waterfront or Squirrel Hill, which aren't that exciting). We'd also like to visit someplace nice in Pennsylvania or Ohio for a few days, but having not lived here for long I'm not quite sure where to go. We're looking to spend no more than a couple hundred dollars. Any ideas?

Any of you guys have experience with
RTW (round the world) air travel tickets? Any particular ones to recommend? I have been looking into
STA off and on, and several other options have been uncovered. But it seems all the
data I can find is depressingly out of date. I tried futzing around on
this webboard, but, not knowing much at all about airports, pro-level flying, and the like, I was incredibly intimidated to the point of "not knowing where to start."

We went to a home show recently, and while there my sweetheart apparently filled out some sweepstakes form. As a result, we got a call today from a nearby resort offering us several apparently-nice 'free gifts' in exchange for visiting their timeshare-resort and "learning more about their property" .... my question is: I assume this is a scam of some kind, but what kind of scam is it?
