Help me troubleshoot and enhance my roadtrip / move to Eugene, Oregon. I will soon depart Lawrence, KS for adventures that will eventually leave me in Eugene to begin graduate studies with UO. I'm going to outline the planned itinerary in the hopes that the hive mind can suggest areas to visit at our planned stops, beautiful or interesting routes to take between them, and interesting pit stops to make. Also, warnings of potential trouble spots or situations will be greatly appreciated. [more inside]

Hey I'm travelling to Europe this summer and want to go from Berlin to Prague. I found a previous post on it but it's from 2005 and the info is a little outdated so i was wondering if anyone had a good suggestion for going about getting to prague? I'm travelling with my Girlfriend and we'll be going from Prague to Munich after our stay there. Does anyone know if we can use our Eurail passes in Germany (from say berlin to dresden then switch trains to prague) or book a roundtrip ticket that will take us into Prague and then on to Munich? All help would be appreciated! Thanks

I hope to take my family to upstate NY for thanksgiving via the 48 Lake Shore Limited Amtrak Train. There will be four of us going. My wife, myself, and our two children (both over 2, under 5). With money being a bit tight, I would like to purchase 2 normal seats, and upgrade the other two seats to a Viewliner Roomette (suggested occupancy of 2, but with my kids being small, and having traveled in one before I know we could all fit). Will there be any issues just leaving the two seats unused, and all of us piling into the room? Will they ask two of us to go back to our seats? I can't afford two of the viewliners, both ways of the trip, and cannot afford to upgrade to the full room. But I know I can budget an extra 400 to get the viewliner for both ways for one set of us. Where should two women go in August for about two weeks? A friend and I want to take a trip this summer. We're open to lots of different experiences, but would prefer that it not be too, too hot or too, too crowded. Places we're considering include Iceland, Norway, Nova Scotia, and Glacier National Park (Canada). Any experiences in these places or other ideas? Thanks, Mefites!

What's the best way to organize a reasonably inexpensive (but not super-low budget) trip to India? Should we use a travel agency to tour around (we do not want a group tour, though)--and if so, which one? Any recommendations for tour books? Any recommendations for must-not-miss sights?

My best friend, who lives about 300 miles away from me, and I had made plans to get together for Christmas, along with our other best friend, for whom I paid 600 bucks to fly out here so we all could be together. Now 300-mile away best friend has e-mailed me with a weak excuse and cancelled his visit here. I know he's not adjusting well to his new home, and seems to be isolating himself from everyone, including me. I'm hurt and angry. How best to address this situation?

I'm organzing an alternative spring break trip for some students from my college to the South Bronx to work on urban environmental issues. The students i have going on have a solid understanding of urban issues (most are from cities), but don't know much about the Bronx itself. Can anyone suggest some good resources, both online and off? I was thinking of Caro's Power Broker to discuss what happened with Robert Moses and the decline of the borough, but i was hoping for other resources from MeFiers.

Okay, I'm leaving for Boise, Idaho (driving) tomorrow and I'd really like to know from people who live there or have been there if it really is as hazardous to black men who travel there as the stories all seem to go. Should I be scared? I'm already planning not to go anywhere without an escort.
