We're celebrating our 20th anniversary this summer (yay!) and we're trying to find a place to stay for a week in the western/northwestern US to celebrate this milestone. The catch is that this destination needs to be some place new to us. A few other particular requirements below the fold.

Really excited to bring my daughter to NYC for her first time next weekend. I haven't been for a few years and never with one of my kids (she's 15) so this trip poses some new challenges. I want her to have a blast, as I have every time I've been there, so I thought I'd see if anyone had any suggestions. Oh, and we get along great and she's awesome and I love her!

Is planning a late-December road trip from California to Chicago madness? Mr. Quince, our sweet pup,
Lincoln, and I would like to take a road trip from Northern California to Chicago and back. We've done it several times taking I-80, but always during non-winter seasons. (more inside)

We need a sanity check on this trip, please! My partner and I are planning on getting out of South Carolina by this summer. We know we'd like to live further north, but there are five places we're considering and we're trying to plan the most economical yet useful trip to help us decide. So: what is the cheapest way to visit Pittsburgh, PA, Syracuse, NY, Burlington, VT, Portland, ME, and Providence, RI in a week?

I will be traveling on business to London Sunday to Friday, staying at the Four Seasons on Park and will be working most of my time there. Any down time will be after 5 pm, any suggestions on something to do/eat/see? I visited London when I was young and did many of the touristy things. I am most interested in just enjoying some of the city without making it too complicated. Also, curious about any suggestions of what things I should make sure to pick up in London for myself (sounds like there are so not to miss beauty products) and for co-workers/significant other. I was thinking of the Fortnum & Mason marmalade and possibly Scotch? This is my first time doing a big trip on business, any suggestion in that capacity would also be welcome!

Help me plan a long-weekend getaway in the Southwest. I don't have enough time to make it a road trip, but would like to drive down some scenic roads. I don't want to camp in the wilderness, but would like see a national park. I don't want a full native-american experience, but would love to buy some native american jewelry. Some shopping/dining would be cool. I want to take more photographs than I'll ever have time to upload to flickr.

I've recently discovered that when I stretch backwards with my arms above my head while holding my breath, I sometimes get a super-trippy laughing-gassy lightheaded rush for about (no longer than) ten seconds.

How bad is this for me? Am I killing loads of brain cells?

We will be vacationing in northern Vermont in July and would like to take a day trip to Montreal. Can anyone suggest a place near the city where we might be able to park the car and then take the Metro? Or a place within the city where we might be able to park for a day? Our plan is to drive up in the morning, do some sightseeing, have dinner, and then head back to our Vermont B&B. Any advice would be appreciated!

I hate fast instant coffee. I will be traveling by car from Toronto to Montreal. There are lots of stops where one can get Tim Hortons or McDonald's instant coffee. Unfortunately/fortunately I don't like their coffee. I can make good coffee at home.
What type of thermos can keep it fresh and warm for a good portion of my trip?

Get Me Out Of My Travel Rut: My tour takes me to the beatific city of San Fransisco soon and while I visit about once a year, I usually end up going to same places/doing the same things. What's terribly new in SF? What are the fresh must-see shows, restaurants, nightspots, stores, or Things To Do. Ideally I'm looking for things/places that have opened within the year. Will have a car and able to make day trips out into the environs.

Hi everyone! My sister, father, and I are planning a road trip this summer from Rhode Island to Los Angeles and we're looking for some itinerary suggestions. We were planning on taking the northern route, hitting Chicago, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, State Route 1, etc. but we don't really have any details laid out. We plan to take 10-11 days, starting on August 20th. Additionally, we would love to do some camping on the way. Thanks :D !!!

7 friends and I are going on a road trip. At restaurants we usually have one person pay by credit card, and have everyone paying for what they ordered to the individual. Oh, and not everyone is gonna be at every event, so having one individual pay for everything on the trip is impossible. And it should redistribute debts so at most each person only needs to make 1 payment to another person. What is the best free method for calculating who pays whom?
