What's the minimum Trek needed to appreciate Galaxy Quest?

I love Galaxy Quest and think my kids would too, but they've never really watched any Star Trek other than the Abrams movies. What would be a few key episodes of Trek (or other classic Sci-Fi) that we could watch to get a sense of the tropes needed to appreciate Galaxy Quest? [more inside]

Your Mongolian Horse Treks. Tell me about them.

We came across this trek on national geographic. We are very interested in doing something similar (the natgeo trip seems expensive) but have no idea of how to start planning or what to expect. Mefites that have vacationed in Mongolia and gone on these treks, please give me your recommendations! [more inside]

A succinct enunciation of Star Trek' 'Prime Directive'

I need a piece of material for a classroom exercise which involves some succinct explanation of the 'prime directive' in the Star Trek franchise (with which I'm very unfamiliar). Ideally it would be Kirk explaining it interestingly and theatrically, but any bit of video or text, that I could show or read to my class, would be useful.

Unofficial Star Trek Cassette-audio Album With Warp-Sound Tracks? Warp 8

I'm looking for the title of a audio-cassette album I owned sometime in the 1990s, which had the themes of various Star Trek movies and, particularly, tracks of sound effects of the ships warping that I believe were unique to the tape (as opposed to having been taken from the films). [more inside]

But Which Bike is Right for ME?

Yet another special snowflake question about what bike to get, from a bicycle noob. I'd like to get out and bicycle in our (hilly) neighborhood. If I love my bike to be, I may commute on it to the train, about 7 miles from our home, or for errands. I haven't really biked since I was a kid and owned a racing 10 speed. I'm a small fairly thin woman (5'2".) I'm fine with staying on roads and hence am not taken with mountain bikes, which strike me as clunky. A little more inside. [more inside]

KHAAAAAAAN this be valuable?

Many, many years ago now I picked up a small toy Klingon battlecruiser, made by Corgi in the UK. It's still packaged (blister-packed) and although the packaging is a bit bashed that's the most unusual thing about it; it proudly declares it's from 'Star Trek II: The Revenge of Khan'. Now I know that was the original working title of STII but aside from this one item I've never seen any physical memorabilia-type items referencing it - I've tried Googling Corgi Collectors pages etc. but again, no joy - do any hardcore Trekkers out there have any idea what (if anything) it might be worth? Many thanks in advance!
