I often give my dogs roasted beef "soup bones" straight from the butcher, the kind with marrow in them. After an evening's worth of undivided attention, they are stripped down to the bone and empty inside. What can I do to turn the hollow bones back into treats?

Homemade Easter gifts. Preferably edible - my friends and family are, like me, wretchedly gluttonous fiends but prefer the not super-processed or over-sweet stuff, so if it's got token fruit or something in then even better.
I just realised there's like a week to go and I have no idea what to make these people. HALP.

I have some problems with a couple of dog training efforts: discouraging snapping at treats (but she doesn't always snap), and how to train "drop it," when she's not typically interested in holding something in her mouth to drop. I'd love some ideas on these two problems.

I would like to surprise a friend in Washington, D.C. for his birthday with a special treat; however, it's a donut made in a mom-and-pop store here in Dallas, and I won't be flying up there anytime soon. Can you help me figure out a hack for this?

I'm looking for tried and true recipes for dog treats. I want to show my neph-dogs some love this holiday season with some homemade treats or biscuits, but I'm not sure I trust random googling. Any recommendations for doggie cookbooks or recipes that your pups have enjoyed? (I would also accept cat treat recipes!)

Fido is coming to visit the in laws with us at Christmas. We want to minimize his potential annoyance to others and boredom. What are the best treat dispensing smart busy toys for dogs? We have a kong and a jolly ball, but what else is out there? It needs to be durable and very difficult since Fido is too darn smart. He loves a good calf thigh stuffed with cheese, but the licking sounds he makes are a little too gross for public. He is around 50 pounds, so it needs to be for large breeds that are hard chewers. Thanks!

Internet pal in Amsterdam says he likes American treats, and I was planning on sending him some as a surprise. Any suggestions on what I can get here that he won't be able to find there? I don't want to send a box of hostess cupcakes (for example) and then find out that they're extremely common over there.

Where can I score some old fashioned liverwurst in the Pacific Northwest? There always used to be rolls of liverwurst next to the lunch meats, but no more. And Amazon no longer carries Mother Goose Liverwurst; there's a "unknown when again available" note. Mail order is fine, if it's a reliable source. (And I really don't want to make it myself; I just want to smear it on bread.)

What goodies do we need from Phoenix, AZ? Husband is going there for a few days in July, and we're trying to think of what treats he ought to bring back to New England - stuff we can't find here at home. Cactus Cooler soda and prickly pear jelly/candy are all I can think of. See's Candies would be wonderful, but would not travel well. Any other regional favorites? Thanks in advance!

My dog loves dried sweet potato chews. They go for $20 a bag in the pet store even though the only ingredients are potatoes. It must be that I can make them at home for the cost of a potato. Do I need a fancy food dehydrator or can I just cut the potatoes up into thick pieces and put my oven on 200F for a many hours? Anyone have a specific recipe or experience making them?

I'm looking for some clever ideas for treats for my ultimate frisbee "secret buddy." They need to be small (not much larger than a big candy bar) and inexpensive (~$5). I don't really know this person that well, but I would like to be more thoughtful than just slipping her a candy bar with a note saying "good luck!". I think puns are more than called for in this situation, especially if they relate to ultimate or geology.
