I am an American citizen. If I want to travel to Vietnam, all I need is a valid passport and visa; if I want to travel to Cuba, I either have to sign up for a special tour, be part of some pre-approved humanitarian/scientific/educational group, or be willing to break U.S. law. I know that there are extralegal ways for U.S-ians to travel to Cuba; this is not my main question. [more inside]

What are some must-do things to see/do in Walla Walla, Washington? The SO and I will be there over Labor Day weekend to attend a wedding. We have one full day on our own. I know Walla Walla is a big wine region, but we don't drink, so wine tasting is out. We do like most cultural and outdoorsy stuff. I'm particularly interested in photography and he really digs history. Also, any recommendations for great restaurants?

A friend who's not working right now has decided to travel across the US, in grand Kerouac style. Setting out from NYC, first destination Chicago. He has less than the total amount of money he'll need for this journey and plans to get throw-away jobs here and there as finances warrant. Assuming he sticks to metro areas, what are some good temporary jobs he can reasonably expect to find quickly (e.g. word processing) where he can make a decent wage yet not have to work full time so he can still play tourist, and get hired promptly so as to earn cash in near real time? (Fast food labor is a very last resort)

The boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Italy in late October. We are still struggling with one thing, though: what to do during planned day trips to Florence and Venice. I'm organizing a bachelor party for some old friends. One of them has just informed me that he has a outstanding ticket for driving with an expired license in the state the party will be in. He plans on paying this ticket, but probably won't be able to until some time after the party. Would he be held up at the airport for something like this? thanks

I'm going on vacation in two weeks...the vacation was planned sort of on a whim about a month ago, and one thing I hadn't considered was vaccines. Now, being a worrywart and knowing I have hypochondriac potential, I am freaking out wondering if one of the planned activities is too risky. Please help me decide whether I should cancel this activity, or whether I am being insane. [more inside]

I am scheduled to fly into Rochester, MN with a connection in Minneapolis on NWA tomorrow evening. I would like to intentionally miss the connection to Rochester and spend the evening in the Twin Cities with friends and take a bus down to Rochester on Saturday. I would, however, like to board my plane on Monday from Rochester as scheduled. Will NWA put up a fuss that I never made my connecting flight and prevent me from boarding Monday?

36 Hours in Yosemite: I'll be attending a conference in San Francisco and will have most of the weekend to kill. We've already booked a hotel room just outside Yosemite National Park. I plan on seeing the Giant Sequoias, and generally just driving around. There's so much to see there that only 36 hours seems like a travesty. Alas. What are some must see things there that I can enjoy at a relatively relaxed pace in my short time there?
