Best way to carry money in Europe

I will be travelling to France, Italy, and Spain in a few weeks, and I'm trying to decide the best way to carry money with me. Many sites have recommended money belts, but this seems weird and awkward for actually paying for things! I would feel weird untucking my shirt and reaching into my pants in a fancy restaurant, for example. [more inside]

Jaipur beyond the "single day tourist" schedule?

We are traveling to India (again!) in March (again!) - our itinerary has a couple days at the end, and we are spending Holi with our friend/guide and his family. The day after Holi, the suggestion is Amber Fort/City Palace/Jantar Mantar. We did those things last time. What should we do this time? We will ask our friend for suggestions, but I wanted to ask YOU GUYS too - thanks!

I'm landing at TF Green (PVD) on a Saturday at 9AM. I'd assumed the MBTA Commuter Rail would run from TF Green to Providence ... turns out, yeah, but not on Saturdays! So, what's the next best/cheapest way for someone fresh off the red-eye on a Saturday morning to get from TF Green to Providence Station? Thanks! How do I pack for Los Angeles?

Last year I went to Los Angeles and I packed ALL wrong. I saw highs of 80 and I packed for Wisconsin 80s and Florida 80s and that just wasn't right. It would get warm, even hot for a few hours only to be so cool in the evening. Some days it really felt like it was HOT for only an hour or two, then freezing. Or it would change depending on where I was. [more inside]

In search of organizational peace while living on the road

In a few weeks I leave to spend 3 months touring and living in a van to do outreach for an animal rights organization, and I'm trying to devise a good system for my stuff on the road. Refundable airfare?

I am planning a trip from the east cost of the US to Asia. There is a small likelihood that I will need to cancel around 2 weeks before departure. Is there anyway to purchase airline tickets which are refundable? Transferable ticket will not work since there is no way I will travel again for several years. Wedding reading that compares love to travel/foreign countries

A very close friend (American) is marrying someone from another culture (Iranian), and they currently both live and work in another country (Singapore). They love to travel and neither of them are religious (in fact, both are atheists.) I'm helping them design a wedding ceremony and am looking for a non-religious poem or reading that compares love to the experience of travel and/or encountering new cultures. I've searching online fruitlessly. The couple seems not to like Rumi-style romantic poems, so something more wry/modern would be great. Thank you MeFi!
