A short film I'm making has a sequence where a woman speaks on a telephone in Arabic. This segment has English subtitles; however, I'd also like to put an Arabic subtitle on the segment title screen. The segment is called "35 Second Love Story", which Google translates as
الثانية وخمسة وثلاثين قصة ح
Can someone who reads Arabic take a look at this and tell me how close it is to what I actually want it to say? Thank you!

Can anyone recommend a free or cheap online translator for Arabic/English? (Actually, recommendations on more expensive ones are welcome too since I might be able to make a case for having my boss pay for it.) All I need is to get the basic gist of the Arabic. I know it's not going to be pretty -- that's okay. I've been using Google Translator which seems decent. I'm just wondering if there is an "industry standard." Ideally, I would LOVE to find something where I can feed in a Word document in Arabic and the translator spits out (an understandably rough) equivalent in English. But does such a thing exist?

Many years ago, I found this keychain on the ground near Columbus Circle in NYC. It looks to be solid silver, and there are identifying marks of some kind on the clasp and one of the links. The text appears to be Arabic... [more inside]

LanguageFilter, round 2: Arabic speakers -- I've got another line to translate. The phrase today was sent to me as "taapanh min el donia wo machglha", and is spelled somewhat phonetically rather than with any kind of Arabic alphabet -> English alphabet conversion. [More inside.] [more inside]

The Koran. I read it long ago. I found it confusing, odd, hard to understand, in dire need of unpacking. I'd like to try reading it again. Can anyone recommend a superlative translation, or perhaps even better, a great paraphrase. Or at the very least one with decent annotations. I'm not averse to a version that does intelligent re-arranging of the sequence, as I recall chapters on cows following stuff on love. There are a number of current translations so pointers to informed reviews of them would be welcomed too.
