Help me find a handheld GPS that feels like it's from this century.

I want a GPS for geocaching and hiking in areas with no cell phone coverage. The ones I've seen so far look about as up-to-date as my Handspring Visor. Please advise. [more inside]

Last minute trip to Denver - good day hikes?

Can anyone recommend some good day, well to moderate marked hikes around the Denver area for next weekend? We would prefer some moderate to tough trails and are already planning on the Mt. Evans drive but would really like to get out a bit more.

Is anyone investigating the pros and cons of chem trails?

Has anyone investigated chem trails? Is there any scientific experiential input about their purpose and effects on us? We are deeply worried because they are unexplained, potentially hazardous, unauthorized by the people and very worrisome. Is there anyone conducting serious independent investigations into these chem trails? We live in L.A. and have just noticed within the past two weeks our skies crisscrossed with milky white trails everywhere in the morning that disperse and form a cloud cover later in the day. This observation has sparked an increased awareness and deep concern.

What is wrong with my vision and what can be done to correct it?

First off, I know you are not my doctor and all that jazz. I have an appointment with an ophthalmologist next week to have this looked at, but it's bugging me and I'd like to know more about it in the meantime. In low light situations, I see "trails" to the bottom and left of light sources in my left eye only. Everything is normal in my right eye. I also get the same effect to a lesser degree in other high-contrast (light on dark) situations even if there is plenty of light. [more inside]

Hike! Hike! Hike Your Pants Up!

I am wanting to enjoy some outdoor exploration this year in Washington state. The catch is, I have multiple sclerosis and my ability to walk is severely hampered (I can walk short distances- maybe about a city block or 2 at a time, sometimes I need a cane, but not wheelchair bound). Where should I go? [more inside]
