Interview driving traffic to a website?

I have a two part question. I've just interviewed well known performer who has just released his first solo CD. He owns all of the rights to the lyrics and music, and his own company published the CD. A radio station I'm associated with plans to put the interview online, as well as broadcast it within the week. If the musician is OK with me putting it on my own website, how might it drive traffic to his site and my site? And is there anything extra I can to make it attract listeners and drive that traffic? A Strange and Mercurial Beast

I use Google Analytics to track traffic to my crappy little writing blog. On Wednesday, I had 20 visits from 13 visitors. On Thursday, I had 99 visits from 89 visitors, of whom 95% were "direct link" visitors. This is obviously nonsense. What on Earth happened? [more inside]

Capitalizing on a spike of traffic?

If I suddenly posted something on my website that I knew would get a ton of traffic, what would be the best way to, literally, capitalize on that traffic? If lightning struck, who would I call/partner with to make sure I got the maximum $$ possible out of all those eyeballs? Assume "selling out to the Man" would not be a concern, and further assume I would have very little time to arrange whatever the answer is. Also, assume the new higher traffic would be short-lived, a few weeks at most.

How can I make money from a high-traffic website?

I run a fairly popular website that recently has started getting in excess of half a million pageviews (~1.7 million hits) a day. The usership mainly consists of teenagers and college students, who come back day after day but don't have a lot of money at their disposal - yet it seems to me that I should be able to turn this sort of traffic into something profitable. Yet I have no idea how, without charging money for things; Adsense yields very little for my keywords, and banner ads are giving me around $11 a day. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'd love to eventually quit my day job and do this full time. [more inside]

Adult Referrer Sites

For some reason lately the traffic to my site has increased by a lot (about 500+ visitors a day) which nice and all. I have a great script that reads the log files and figures out the stats and I wrote a custom script to track referalls. One thing I noticed though is a large portion of the traffic I receive comes from adult sites that do not link to me. So how is it that on any given day pornwizzard.com can send me 30-40 visitors? Do I really have that many people who read my site after going to pornwizzard (or any other number of adult sites) or are these sites doing something funky trying to just get traffic to their site if I was to randomly put up a last 10 referrals?
