Best Dog GPS tracker?

Recommendations for a Dog GPS collar? Hey guys, I want your opinion on this. It's almost 2010, and Dog tracking GPS collars have been around for a while now. So have keychain dongles for tracking your belongings. I want to know whats the best, reasonably priced device for my needs.

Long story short, I own a bar and my little dog (Rat Terrier, 17lbs) is my constant companion while I'm working. The customers lover her, and she's a sweetheart. I want a system in place that will (A) let me locate her if she ever sneaks outside.. or if someone tries to walk off with her and (B) sound an alarm if she ever wanders close to the door. The bar is pretty long, so most of the time she never goes near the door anyways, so I'd like an alarm on my end to go off should she end up over there. Extra points if it has an 'invisible fence' option that will both alarm me and make an annoying noise to her so she knows to stay away from the exit unless I'm carrying/walking her.

Several of the devices built specifically for dogs seem incredibly overpriced without bringing much to the table. Most I've seen involve a monthly fee and only let me locate my dog a couple times a month. This obviously seems silly since most GPS units don't require a service plan, and if they do then they don't limit me to how often I can use them.

I know its important to set your fears at ease-- she's got her own little safe place to hide when we're busy or she's tired. She's only out and about when we're slow. This is also a nice, relaxed and classy bar with a lot of focus on art and good music. Not a 'lets go out and get TRASHED and break stuff!!' kind of place. Most of our clientele is 25+. We don't serve food, so health code isn't an issue. Outside the bar is a very pedestrian friendly street with huge sidewalks, a patio area (Fayetteville Street in Raleigh)

I could probably get by with even a very rudimentary system but it'd be nice to be able to pull up a graphic showing my dogs location. The ideal solution would be a dongle that hangs from her collar and has the ability to do both (A) and (B) from above, so it doesn't necessarily have to be made specifically for a dog. Also, should she wander off, it wouldn't be hard to find her as long as I know right when she leaves-- there aren't a lot of woods for her to hide in.

JetBlueTracker JetBlueTracker JetBlueTracker

I live in New York and my parents live in Sarasota, FL. There are two direct flights per day on JetBlue between JFK and SRQ. Is it possible to set up something up that would alert me whenever prices on these flights dropped below a certain amount? I'd like to see my family a few times a year and am in no way tied to certain dates of travel. Some travel sites offer flexible travel for major cities but not for a city this size.

I specifically asked about JetBlue because they are currently the only airline offering direct flights on this route. I am also a member of JetBlue's TrueBlue reward program.

Good free keyword tracker for SEO?

Good free keyword tracker for SEO similar to Digital Point's Keyword Tracker? Does anyone know of or use a good free keyword tracker for SEO purposes? The one I have used semi-regularly is Keyword Tracker from Digital Point. This has worked quite well for my needs but there are problems using this tool now. For one, it requires a Google SOAP Search API which you cannot get anymore and if you had one it won't work after August 31st, 2009 when it is retired. For tracking Yahoo and MSN, the use of a PHP script is required which won't work if the server you are working with does not have PHP installed.

If there are no free apps then what tools have you used that are reasonably priced with good tracking options?

Chevrolet Tracker Spark Plugs

Changing sparkplugs: I have a 2003 Chevrolet Tracker, with an unusual ignition coil setup, and I want to learn how to remove the coils and access my plugs. (Pictures inside) Typically spark plugs have a boot with a cable coming out of them, but my car has a different setup that is confusing me. On the top of my engine are 4 caps that seem to be covering the spark plugs. I wanted to know if I can just pull them off, or if there are special steps I have to take.

Also, I'm concerned about the clips on the side of the caps -- do I remove those first or do I just pull the whole assembly off? If anyone has changed their plugs on a Tracker, I'd be most grateful for your advice!

Quality Dedicated Hosting that allows Bittorrent Tracker? Have Budget.

I will soon be distributing a bunch of large scientific and research datasets, all entirely legal for redistribution, many as large as a few gigabytes. Bittorrent is the best solution for this. Many respectable webhosting sites don't allow Bittorrent trackers; too many of those that do seem fly-by-night. I have a budget for this and want something respectable and reliable. Recommendations? My current host (Bluehost) has 6000GB/transfer a month, but I hear that these large caps can often be illusory; I want to be prepared for one to ten TB of traffic per month. I also need to be able to receive similarly large datasets, which I think will be much easier over bittorrent than asking folks to POST >1GB over ADSL and have it crap out after 3 hrs transfer (not to mention hitting CPU limits).

Amazon S3, at $0.18/GB, would be ~ $1000/mo for 6000 GB. I've reviewed most of the previous hosting q'ns, including Dealing with spikes in website popularity, but none of those suggestions make this work financially.

This clearly calls for bittorrent, but I've had real trouble finding dedicated hosting that will allow me to install a tracker. Bitrot has happened to the last question along these lines, and too many of the directories for tracker sites seem populated by rug merchants and fly-by-night operations.

I'm willing to spend money -- preferably in the $100-$200/mo range -- and want something respectable and reliable. If you tell me it will cost more than that then so be it. I'm figuring that the bittorrent solution (combined with throttling, ratios and a cooperative userbase) will keep me in the 1 TB/month range.

Can you recommend dedicated hosting that will allow me to run a tracker?

Help me keep track of where I take my photos!

What is the best, cheapest option to add GeoTagging to my Nikon D50 pictures? Basically, I just want the simplest, most basic GPS track-recorder you can give me. My googling has yielded less than optimal results. I know that the Nikon D50 doesn't have any way to do it in-camera, so my goal is to record my GPS track, then sync up the GPS track to the photos based on time taken, after the fact, using software (incidentally, recommendations on software also gladly accepted). The recorder doesn't even have to have a screen, it just has to be accurate and easy to download tracks to my PC.

How did they get on my buddy list?

What is MSN Tracker V2.0 and am I at risk of getting hacked? I've noticed a couple of people have somehow added themselves to my MSN Messenger list. I don't recall approving them; they were just there.

During a conversation with one of them, he tells me that he got my email address off some software called "MsnTracker V2.0", which connects to the MSN servers and (I reckon) gets people there. There may have been a language barrier, but that's basically the gist of what he said. I felt really creeped out and blocked him.

I tried Googling "MSN Tracker" but didn't get anything useful. I've been told that I may be hacked (or will soon be), but I'm not sure. Spybot search only turns up with cookies for CasaleMedia; virus searches are clean.

What is this MSN Tracker business? Is it possible to track people through the MSN servers? How did they get themselves on my MSN Messenger list without me approving them? I don't use MSN that often, but this is scaring me. I've been hacked through ICQ many years ago and that wasn't fun.

any and all help appreciated, thanks!

I've got a torrent file that uses the old Lokitorrent tracker, so it's unusable as is. This much, I know. My problem is that I can't figure out how to make it work otherwise.
Python Bittorrent Tracker Question

ahh, it's nice to finally be a member after a year of lurking..anyway, i figure i would take this opprotunity to ask a question that i've recently run into. I need some help regarding the python bittorrent tracker i recently set up. [more inside] ok, here's my situation. I just started using the python tracker that comes with the bittorrent 3.2.1 source. the tracker is hosted on a remote unix server, so everytime i want to run the tracker I have to SSH to the host, then type in the usual "python bttrack.py --port 6868 --dfile dstate". i have to keep the session open in order to keep the tracker up. My question is basically how can i keep from needing to run a client window and keep it open everytime I want to run the tracker.
I ran into a problem when my computer crashed the the tracker was down for 5 minutes or so.
I've read a little into shell scripting but not too much. Basically what i'm looking for is some kind of script that can be automatically run on the remote host to start the tracker, and also, if the tracker goes down (server restart or something) then the script runs the command again. I guess the trick would be keeping the session open to keep the tracker alive...
this really seems like it would be a fairly common problem and i'm thinking maybe i'm just missing something obvious, but i've yet to come upon any answer from various bt related sites.
