We are going to be driving from Boston to Toronto on a Thursday night and Friday with our five kids (ages 3 to 16). We want to stop somewhere half-way to sleep--ideally a hotel that is not too pricey but still decent and has an indoor pool. Perhaps a good breakfast, or just a decent breakfast. Where should we stay? And in general, if you needed to find a hotel en route from A to B, how would you do that (the second question is WAY less important than the first)?

Toronto MeFites: Tell me everything and anything about Little Italy / College & Grace. I'm considering moving there. What about it sucks/rocks? Best places to shop/hang/eat/chill/ whatever. How much are tomatoes? Bananas? Other food staples? Not familiar with Little Italy? How about High Park/BWV; Kensington; Dufferin and Keele? Dunno those areas? Where should I abslolutely positively avoid? [more inside]

I take a lot of short business trips and I don't really like hotels that much. I would prefer to stay in an apartment. Does anyone know of a nationwide group which rents apartments for just a few days? Failing that, such a group in Chicago or Toronto would be great. In Montreal I found a hotel that had some apartments in a building around the corner, and that was a pretty good solution.

I have business in Toronto next week and I'd like to avoid staying in a big shiny Hya-Marri-Omni. A location within walking distance to 33 Villiers Street (M5A 1A9) is a definite plus but not necessary. Price range: ca. 200 USD per night.

Moving to Toronto-filter. I'm trying to decide between Midtown, Yonge and Eglinton, Yonge and St. Clair; or something more in the West end, like Queen and Dufferin, King and Dufferin, etc. If any Mefites live in the area, what are your experiences? How livable is the West end, really? [more inside]

I'm looking for a wardriving map of downtown Toronto that was posted online a year or two ago. It had wireless networks marked in three colours: encrypted, unencrypted, and out-of-the-box. I had a copy on my hard drive, but I think I've lost it. Does anyone know where I can find it?

Where can I buy poker chips in Toronto? I'm looking for something nicer than what the dollar stores are offering, and Google is no help for obvious reasons. I imagine I'm looking for a gaming store of some kind, but I don't know where to start looking. Downtown is preferable, but anywhere TTCable is doable. I don't mind spending up to fifty or sixty dollars for a set which will accomodate eight players—is this reasonable?

Beyond renting videos, long walks on the beach, and hot pig sex...
What are your favourite things to do on a date? I'd like some creative suggestions for fun, date-appropriate activities, especially ideas that are low-budget or free, and geared to the early stages when one (or two) hasn't quite gotten to the hot pig sex yet. Toronto-centric ideas will be most welcome, since that's where I am.

Going to Toronto next weekend for the first time, for three days and staying at the Canadiana Backpackers Hostel in downtown Toronto. We are three college students - can anyone recommend free/cheap things to do and explore? We'd prefer to avoid touristy spots, have a high interest in walking everywhere, exploring ethnic neighborhoods (where'd the best place for good, authentic dim sum in Toronto?)

If I am going to Toronto for a weekend, with three people, what is the best and cheapest option for parking for three days? If I'm correct, i can't park there overnight, even in a residential neighborhood. is there a train station i can park in overnight and take a train in? or would just shelling out for three nights ofparking be the best idea?
