What's involved in running a Google Pixel or other 3G Chromebook in Toronto, Canada? Do they just take a normal carrier's sim card and run as if they're phones without phone numbers? Will they run on Wind/Mobilicity/Public or only one Bell/Rogers/Telus, etc? Over all, what issues does one need to be aware of? Thanks.

Hey! I'm in Toronto, it's my b-day tomorrow, and I want to go out for a night of wine and tapas in the west end of Toronto. I'm a real-food eating, grains-avoiding type, and there will be a vegetarian with us. I love Black Hoof, Catch, and The Ace. What else can you recommend?

My friend and I are planning a one-way road trip from Denver, CO to Rochester, NY this June. The catch? We would like to complete it in around 7 days. I'm looking for your insight on how to make the most of the cities along our route in a limited amount of time (probably about 5 hours of exploring), suggestions for a better route, or general road trip advice.

I've been thinking of joining a gym for the first time in my life, primarily because I live alone and work from home and it would be good for me to have a place to go to be around other people once a day. So, I am looking for a gym to join. I just checked out the one nearest me tonight but was discouraged by the fact that the facilities seemed dirty and smelly and crowded. Buffed Toronto Mefites, what gyms can you recommend for someone who lives in west end Toronto (between Lansdowne and Dundas West subway stations), and wants a convenient, clean, and inexpensive gym to join? I'd like to do weights and the occasional exercise class in whatever (pilates, yoga, or kickboxing are all fine). I'd love to be able to swim too, but realize that isn't compatible with inexpensive.

I live in London. I am going to Toronto on Sunday where, according to the weather forecast, there will be lows of -16C. I have literally never *been* in weather like that before, and do not own, or know where I should purchase, clothing which will deal with it. Special circumstance to note: I am a large person. I'm a woman, but men's XXXL does well by me .

My wife and I are taking care of our out-of-town niece, who is a month short of her fourth birthday, this weekend (and possibly our nephew, who is six months younger). We don't have kids of our own, so we're kind of clueless about how to entertain children that age. What are some fun and not-too-expensive kid-friendly things to do in Toronto this weekend?

My wife and I will be spending a week in Toronto in late July. Airbnb has lots of housing options, but we have no idea where a good location would be. We like to stroll around and like the usual stuff - museums, cafes, bookstores all a plus; nightlife not so much. We figure there will be plenty to see and do, but if you have some 'don't miss' suggestion, that would be appreciated also. Thanks.

What would you do if you had tomorrow (a Friday for posterity) morning free in Toronto and had never been there before? I need to be at the University of Toronto at 12.30 or so. Assume College and Spadina as a start and end point. If a transit museum existed (it seems to have been proposed, but doesn't exist), I would go there.

TorontoToothpasteFilter: When my husband was vacationing in Spain, he picked up
this amazing toothpaste and we fell in love with it completely. It is flavoured with fennel, myrrh, and propolis rather than the North American **All-Mint-All-The-Time** Extravaganza, and we realised that we liked this taste much much better. Sadly, our usual stores have succumbed to the minty-fresh lobby.

I have the opportunity to visit Toronto from December 25 - December 29 and I have a few questions:
1) Will things (restaurants, shops, museums) be open on Christmas Day and Boxing Day?
2) Is it foolish to visit in December (weather? crowds?)?
3) What are the must-see, must-do things in Toronto?
4) What are the best restaurants in Toronto? (I'm looking for fine dining as well as local fare.)
Thanks!

I run a retail business in Toronto, Canada. It's an independently owned business--like a mom and pop store. I need to fire someone because he's incompetent and his presence actually makes more work for the other staff. I have emailed and texted with this staff member (who has worked with us for 13 months) regarding his considerable transgressions but we do not have "paperwork" or "forms" in the traditional sense. His work never improves.
What exactly do I have to do to fire him without worrying about legal issues? Two weeks pay? Three? Does the firing need to be written in addition to verbal or is just verbal fine? What's the best way for me to cover my ass?

Toronto-filter: Is there a good place to get shirts (both male and female) washed and ironed for a reasonable price? I've tried dry cleaners but while male shirts seem to be ok from a price perspective (although still expensive), female shirts (exact same material, some form of cotton blend) are charged at twice and sometimes three times the price, even though they are, almost literally, just smaller men's shirts. Any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks.

I'm a web developer in Toronto who is currently operating as a sole proprietor. A prospective new client would really like to hire me for a major new project, but they can only deal with incorporated companies and cannot hire a sole prop. I'm looking for advice on incorporating from a) people in Canada and especially Ontario, but also from b) anyone who has any relevant advice about the experience of becoming an Inc., even if you are not Canadian. Yes, I will be engaging an accountant or lawyer for specific advice if I do decide to move forward, so I'm not worried that some specific advice may not be appropriate for my jurisdiction: I'm just trying to get a broad picture of what it's like (and some recommendations for lawyers/accountants).
