If I buy an oversized item at Target (i.e. a box of Milkbones or a pack of toilet paper), the cashier will slap on a very strong, heavy-duty strap with the red Target logo on it. It's almost like duct tape, except stronger and the sticky portion is only on each opposite end. What is this stuff called, and where can I buy a generic equivalent?

What applications (freeware preferred) to people usually load up on their Windows Mobile (5.0) devices?
After many years getting by with a regular cell phone, my company recently switched me to an iPaq (6955). While I dislike the form factor a bit, I like the option of extending functionality with new programs. I just added Google Maps for Mobile, One Note mobile and will soon add MyLifeOrganized mobile (the non-freeware task mgmt tool I use).
Any other recommendations?

Survey software, survey tool to use with SPSS.
Hello fellow chums,
I am looking for a software program (preferably free - but also looking for one that has a flat fee) which can perform all sorts of surveys including open ended questions. The most important part is that I find one where I can use it and transpose it into an SPSS file to be sent out to others, or simply use it in SPSS myself and analyze it.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? ...pretty please? :)
p.s. as an aside, can something like this be placed WITHIN a website with a fair amount of ease? [if this last question makes no sense, please ignore it]

I've been trying unsuccessfully to figure out how to route a channel in a piece of plexiglass for quite a while and now, having run out of ideas, I turn to the hive mind for help.
I've tried both a Dremel and a full-size router, but since they both spin at high RPMs (even at the Dremel's lowest setting), the plastic winds up melting and burring all over my bits as well as turning opaque due to the heat. My goal is to make the channel as translucent as possible, and I believe that I can put the plexiglass sheet in an oven after routing causing the plastic to smooth out and clear up any opaque areas caused by roughness. Can anyone recommend the proper combination of tool, bit, speed and technique to achieve my goal? Note that I am not wedded to plexiglass; I just need a very translucent material that I can carve channels into.

I checked a few local Starbucks and looked online at Williams-Sonoma and Sur La Table. Any suggestions on local coffee shops and/or specialty retailers in the North San Jose Area that have a selection of the above items?
