I have fine, long, wispy, ultra-ultra-straight hair and according to the hairdresser, lots of it. I would like to occasionally have some loose, simple curls or waves, for going out, weddings and other dressy events.

What kind of sander should I get to sand a variety of household projects? This weekend, I’ll be sanding the untreated pine interior of some fixed cupboards and shelves, with lots of tight, awkward corners. I'll also be sanding back spakfilla on masonry walls where I’ve filled in nail holes. I’m sanding so I can paint. Later on (in a few months) I might sand down some wood furniture. I don’t think I’ll use the sander for any exterior work. What kind of sander should I get AskMe – and why?

I'm wanting to build a sculpture armature for small-to-medium-sized clay work. It'll be pretty typical, except that I want the horizontal support arm to have two articulated, lockable joints so I can easily reposition a sculpture while I'm working on it. I was picturing three long, thin bolts of a few inches length screwed on to some kind of joint with a wingnut. I've looked at hardware stores but haven't found anything like this and I'm not sure how to articulate what I need.

Recent/Obscure web applications and tools filter. I am talking with a government department (Economic Development) about using web based applications and tools both internally and externally. I've got the basics covered, but it would be nice to include mentions of some less-than-famous apps or tools that have been of use elsewhere. If there are any that have provided some mileage for you or your organisation, especially govt ones, I'd love to hear about them.

I just purchased a Suzuki SV650 and I want to know where I can find a starter tool kit for maintaining the motorcycle. I bought a Haynes Service Manual/Handbook and want to regularly maintain the bike myself. Changing oil, check spark plugs, air filter, tire pressure, drive chain wear, etc... I would rather not buy all the tools separately one by one as that would not only be more time consuming but I don't know where to start.

A while back I found a web page for nice OSX tool for fixing the dates of a set of pictures by allowing the user to sort them graphically in a timeline. Sadly I did not download it then, and now I seem to have lost the link.
Does anyone know what this tool is?

Does anyone know where I can find an old wood lathe to restore and turn massive burls? This isn't your father's lathe, it's more likely your great grandfather's lathe and hasn't been out of the barn since before the War. It weighs half a ton. If you hang out at the VFW or in old union halls and ask around a massive bowl will be your reward for the beta. I'll go anywhere in the Northeast if it's cheap and farther than that if it is free.
