Sometimes, one of the first pages of a library book will bear an identifying stamp made of perforations punched through by a special tool. This practice seems to have disappeared, and Googling for it has only frustrated me. What is the tool called and where can I find one? [more inside]

Say you had a team of three to five people working once per week over a year doing a gardening project on one acre of land and poly tunnels in a cold-to-moderate climate with clay and loamy soil (England). What tools would they need a weekly basis and what tools would they need on a once-per-year or quarterly basis?

Just scored the use of a mandoline slicer for the next week, and I'm totally excited but don't know where to start. Can you good people hook me up with your best mandoline-using recipes? Potatoes! Carrots! Turnips! I'll slice 'em all! [more inside]

Can anyone tell me what this
is? I've had this for many years but now am clearing out my "collections" so my kids won't have to. Before I send this off I'd like to know what it is, and that would probably help interest someone in having it. Only marking is "Germany".

FIREFOX/WINDOWS 7: When using Firefox, where is the bar that includes options of "file", "edit", "view", "favorites" and "tools".? It disappeared! When I access Internet Explorer, no problem, these options are all available and visible, but on Firefox (which I prefer) it seems to have disappeared.

Is there a way to change the options for the PENCIL TOOL in ILLUSTRATOR so that it just draws a new line once you pick it up and put it down again - (no matter how close you are to the previously drawn line)? [more inside]

I found this thing buried in the yard, while gardening. It looks like some sort of tool. What is it? Picture One
