I have a Challenge to all antique hand tool buffs. I'd really appreciate knowing what this
tool is and what it was used for...
The tool consists of a brass piece mounted to a wooden handle. The tool measures 6 3/4 " in total length. At the high point of the brass forefront, it is 1 15/16 ". The brass piece is 1 5/8 " wide. It has a tool stamp of 'IDEAL TOOL COMPANY' in raised letters on the reverse side of the upright brass fixture. I could not find anything like it on the Ideal Tool Company Antique website...
I would greatly appreciate your expert opinions as to what it is and was used to accomplish.

Looking for a social media tool that allows visitors to our website to sign & send a pre-written email (and to possibly add their own comments or edits as well, but that's not 100% necessary) to a group of local politicians. I have a couple of mini knives/multi-tools (1 Leatherman and 1 Gerber). I like both of them a lot, but they are getting kind of old (1 is 13 years old and the other is about 4 years old).
I am looking for a way to clear them properly so that some of the minor rust spots are gone and get rid of all of the "stuff" that has accumulated in the knife over the years. However, where they are so small, I am finding this difficult.
Any tips/suggestions as to go about doing this?

I'm looking for an object I once saw a picture of. It was an antique tool that was, I think, described as a japanese jade vise, or something similar. It was rectangular in shape, and consisted of a number of stacked wooden wedges that could be slid in and out in relation to one another to form an opening in which a gem could be securely held by the pressure of the wedges.

FIREFOX/WINDOWS 7: When using Firefox, where is the bar that includes options of "file", "edit", "view", "favorites" and "tools".? It disappeared! When I access Internet Explorer, no problem, these options are all available and visible, but on Firefox (which I prefer) it seems to have disappeared.

I'm trying to install a toilet. My contractor put a PVC pipe in the floor, but the end is too high for my toilet to sit level on the ground. So I need to cut the PVC pipe. There's only about a half inch gap around the pipe, so I started trying to cut it with a Dremel from the inside. But it seems to be too thick and overheats the Dremel. Is there another cheap tool I can use for this?

I am looking for a leadership tool I used to use back in the late nineties, but can't find anymore. It was a flowchart intended to help a person determine which decisionmaking style to use in a particular set of circumstances. Essentially it takes the D1-D5 framework (where D1 is highly directive and D5 is highly collaborative), and sets up a flowchart process that helps the person determine which to use. So for example it would ask “Will other people be affected by the decision” (yes argues for collaboration) and “Will other people's acceptance of the decision be required for implementation” (yes argues for collaboration).
