I need some help finding a story I heard on NPR(?) about a man that found that curing tobacco in a certain way can reduce the hydrocarbons in it.

Somehow I've inherited a very tall (around 5 feet), very heavy hookah that was brought over from the middle east (UAE). I don't want it but don't know what to do with it. It's been in an attic for the past 20+ years so it hasn't been used in a very long time. It could be worth a lot or a little, I just don't know. Are there any concerns I should have if I try to sell it? Paraphernalia laws that could get me in trouble? As far as I know it is meant for tobacco but could possibly be used for other stuff.

What is the branded history of the
Marlboro Red cigarette? I am contemplating the history of marketing to women right now, and I am especially interested to know if the "Red" branding of today goes back to when the cigarettes had red filters to blend with lipsticks. Are they "Reds" of today called such because of the red packaging, the processing of the tobacco, the historical marketing to women, or something else entirely? It would be especially interesting to me if these cigarettes, which are hyper-masculine today, are direct descendants of a quintessentially feminine product.

I love smooth, round, almost earthy flavors. So far, I've only found this flavor type from oxidized leaves, such as black tea (especially with milk) and the smell of good-quality tobacco. Is there any other source of a similar flavor?

Are cigarettes being made differently than a few months ago? Normally you light a cigarette and if you put it in the ashtray, it just burns up to the filter. I notice that about 6 months ago, the cigarette no longer does that but extinguishes itself if I don't keep puffing. Has anybody else had this experience? I smoke Marlboro Ultra Lights. No preachers, please.

Giving up smoking. I've been moderately successful in quitting tobacco. But I have a real problem with cannabis. Several times, I've quit the cigarettes for 6 months only to be scuppered when someone offers me a joint, and soon I'm back smoking cigarettes again. I've tried pipes of pure dope (not satisfying and too quick), I've tried eating it (great fun but needs to be done ~2hrs in advance), I've tried "herbal smoking mixtures" (taste like bonfires, don't burn well). But nothing comes close to that nicotine fuelled joint experience. So am I really going to have to turn down every joint for the rest of my life?
