Welcome to Guam! Would anyone out there know how to say "Welcome to Guam" in Chamorro? My Google-fu has failed me, yet has lead to an interesting education on the history of Guam. I basically work on a ship and compile printed information on each port we visit. In a "good idea at the time" moment, I started using the local phrase for "welcome to..." as the header. It's been interesting as we travel around the world, but Guam has stumped me! Any ideas?

How to get the best conversion rate (GB Pound to US Dollar)? I've been working in London for the past year, trying to save up money for grad school when I return to the states. I was told that December was the best month of the year to do a GBP to USD conversion (not too sure how accurate that is). I bank with Barclays (England) and Chase (US) and am in the states at the moment. I've brought the money (in GBP) over because I thought it would give me more conversion options. I know that it can get complicated with conversion rates changing, various banks with their own exchange rates, etc. I'm willing to open an online bank account if that's the best option to transfer pounds to dollars. Are there any conversion geniuses out there who can help give me any tips? Many thanks! D

How do I let people love me? Will I ever outgrow my fear of intimacy? I'm in my late 20s. I'm scared of intimacy. Don't get me wrong, I'm not scared of sex. Won't think twice about a threesome, but am startled by holding hands. If a guy wants to get to know me more, compliments me, or crosses the line from being sweet to me to being sweet on me, I get super flustered. I stutter or look at my feet. I run away. [more inside]
I cannot figure out how to transfer articles I've saved at Instapaper to my new Kindle 3. From what I read it ought to be possible, but after two days I can't set it up. If I understand correctly, Instapaper will email to my kindle email address the articles I select to be sent, and the Kindle is somehow supposed to receive them via my Wi-Fi. Need I admit I'm a bit clueless? I need very specific step-by-step directions and or suggestions for finding / hiring somebody to set this up for me. I bought the Kindle mainly to be able to do this. I work on Mac Book Pro.

Who the hell can I trust to give me reliable advice about running shoes? And which goddamn shoes should I buy?
Ok, seriously: Is there any reliable information on running shoes out there? Who the hell can I trust? Every source of information seems either fraught with bias or complete fluff. What's a critical thinker to do? And more importantly, what goddamn shoes should I buy? [more inside]
We just bought a condo (with a large closet in the master) in a ski resort town about 1 1/2 hours from our home. we use it on weekends and for vacation. I have a question about keeping clothes there or packing clothes each time we go. I thought originally it would make sense to keep clothes there but am finding it kind of makes me crazy. It seems like unless I remember what is there, I am forever guessing wrong. For example, last time I was there I was with only one pair of underwear because I thought i had some there. Anyone have any advice for me that will simplify my clothing life? It almost seems easiest to just pack all of what i need for the weekend. We go about 2 weekends per month and I visit random times alone during the month. Thank you!

I am now in a living situation where I live with a bunch of friends. I was always close friends with one of the girls (for about a year) and one night we cuddled. It led to some more cuddling for a few nights but it bothered me. Not because I didn't like it but because I'm the type that wants things to be clear. I've always been in the mindset that if I like a girl, I will pursue her and make it clear to her. Leaving things unclear can lead to messy relationships/breakups/fights and hurt feelings in the end. Hi there, My company is transferring me to London at the end of the month and I haven’t had much time to do some essential research. Part of the problem is I don’t even know the right questions to ask, or the right places to go on the web to find the info I need. Here are a few things that I’d need to know in order to get me started, if anyone is so inclined to lend their knowledge: Apartment, bank, mobile phone, international calls, location, public transit, exemption from US taxes, tying up loose ends in the US. Anything else I may be missing? [more inside]

Does such a thing exist?
Given that the airlines are reducing the numbers of flights due to the economic downturn, what is the optimal time to book cheap flights? In the past, I've had great success booking domestic flights 2-3 days before. This time, we will be booking 2 round trip tickets. I just booked a flight from the western US to Montreal for my husband, three weeks ahead, as we found the planes were filling up rapidly. We didn't get much of a deal. Standby is not on option as I'll be flying with an autistic person. Any and all hive-mind thoughts are welcome. Thanks!
