I just hired a dog walker this week... and it just occurred to me today: am I supposed to be tipping? And if so, how? The weekly bill is $60; am I supposed to leave a couple of bucks a day, or could I leave $10 or $12 at the end of the week or something? Or is it more of a holiday bonus thing (in which case I feel kind of bad, because the holidays are a year away).
Some days, the owner of the business will walk my dog. Is it like a salon where you're not supposed to tip the owner, just employees?
Or am I totally over thinking this, and is dog walking not a tipping sort of service?

My Super is wonderful. I want to give her cash for (what I consider) to be going out of her way but she actively refuses it. Suggestions, especially as we're in the midst of holidays of various flavors.

I recently purchased a living social coupon for 3 sessions of laser hair removal but am unsure of tipping etiquette for the procedure? Is it customary to tip for laser hair removal – and if so, how much?

How much to tip a driver in Mexico? Two of us are getting a transfer from the Cancun airport to a resort about an hour away. The fare, round trip, for both of us, is $140 ($70 each way). How much should I tip, for each segment (airport to resort and resort to airport)?

How much should I tip a hairdresser for a men's haircut in the US? $5? $10? 10%? 25%? How much money signals that you are thrilled with the cut, rather than just okay with it? Thoughts from people who have worked in barber shops and salons would be most appreciated.

TipFilter: Some friends and I were on the receiving end of some bad service last night, so we didn't tip. The waitress followed us out and made a scene. I'm looking for advice on how to handle tipping in these rare situations and what to do now. [More Inside]

EtiquetteFilter: An hour removed from the salon now, I can see that I have just been on the receiving end of a bad spa treatment at a local salon. I've called, explained the problem and asked for a refund. What's the etiquette on tips? I left the appropriate tip for the amount of the service, and charged the rest on credit card.

I'm about to get a massage from a friend who runs her own one-employee (herself) massage business. When I pay her fee (which all goes to her), should I add a tip too? I never know how much of tipping is about "here's something for YOU since the bulk goes to management" (not true in this case), and how much is about, "I know you SAID the price is $50, but you should get a little extra because you did such a good job."
