Does any one know of a free or inexpensive software that will use the computers sound card to generate LTC timecode. I would like to be able to use a PC as a master clock to feed time of day time code to various decks. [more inside]

I am looking for software that is able to take out the audio and add a time code to .mpg files I get from my camcorder. I know there are lots of programs that can add the time code, but I'm hoping someone knows a free/low cost program that can easily do both.

A friend recorded six hours of footage on MiniDV using a Canon XL 2, but the cameraman accidentally left a setting turned on that recorded the timecode, battery life, and other display information directly on top of the video footage.
