Hey Me-fites, I'm dipping my toes into the pool of time travel novels. My main character is going back to 1984--because I want to write about 1984 Vancouver, pre Expo, pre Olympics, when it was a hick town on the far edge of the world. When my characters back in time, he's going to check out some bands, preferably pre-famous, you know, $5 cover, one of three acts, tiny clubs, etc. So, oh wise ones, what band should he find himself seeing?

I work in a building with two elevator banks, six cars per bank. One covers floors 2 - 20. The other covers floors 20 - 38. Both, obviously go to the lobby. My office is on floor 20, so my co-workers and have our choice of which elevator bank to choose from for our trips up and down. [more inside]

Can'tFindThisVideoAgainFilter: YouTube, perhaps; within last 6 months. A couple of guys go back in time (!) and keep a diary. They return to the present and assert that birds are just dinosaurs. Pretty sure the punchline was something close to my tagline above. Much better than as described...
I'm going away for a week and a bit. Is there anything I can set up now that will done and ready to be enjoyed when I get back? [more inside]
There's a website where I can plug in an address and find out where I can get to in any direction in a city in X minutes using transit. I have lost the link, where is it?
Ok! What was the name of the show. It involved two guys, one in his late 20's, incredibly handsome, looked like the blond guy from Dukes of Hazzard only with brown hair, and he wore like a Gulliver's Travel get up, (he may have been from another time in the past) with a wine colored velvet laced up vest, billowing white shirt, and his sidekick was this super dorky teenager 14-18? and they would go on time travels together, and narrowly avoid tricky situations. It was usually shown on weekend afternoons, but it could have had a regular time slot in prime time. Racking my brain! Thanks for your help!
I'm looking for a particular blog post from the past. I have no idea where I saw it, or how I found it, but it involved something along the lines of pretending to be a time traveller to convince a girl to marry you by impersonating her "husband from the future." Any ideas?
I have just got the time travel bug. After watching this movie, I realized I wanted to read more books and watch more movies on time travel. Please recommend some good ones; the more screwed up/paradoxical/complex, the better, as long as the explanations are reasonably rational.
Going bonkers trying to remember the title of a favorite children's book that I read growing up in the late 1960s. The story takes place in NYC and the main characters are 2 children, a boy and a girl. The children stand in the first car of a subway train and as the train moves faster and faster through a Bowery tunnel, the children travel back in time to NY when it was New Amsterdam. They meet Peter Stuyvesant and other characters in Manhattan when it was a Dutch colony. Sound familiar to anyone?
Who spent more of their Presidency on vacation, Dubya or Bush, Sr.? Who travelled more, Clinton or Reagan? It seems to me, there's got to be some organization somewhere that tracks this kind of Presidential time-utilization info, and organizes it into pretty charts and graphs. Help me find the information visualization I seek!

I want to say I played this game around age 12 or 13, so that would be right around 1990 or so. It was a computer game where you played a character in charge of a group of people who are sent back through time to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy. [more inside]
