Hello! A while back, I asked this question. The person who rear-ended me intends to appeal the court's decision. Will I need to go to court again? [more inside]
Someone rear-ended me about two months ago. The police officer gave her a ticket. I just got a court document in the mail informing me of a trial date and time; she is apparently contesting the ticket. Do I need to go to court? If so, what can I expect when there? [more inside]
I recently got cited for a one point moving violation in San Francisco and I'm trying to decide if its worth taking the driving school option to keep the point off my drivers license. I haven't gotten a ticket in ten years, so my main concern is about how much this will cause my insurance to go up. Do you know how much a single point ticket on my otherwise clean driving record will cause my insurance to go up? I'm married and insured by AAA.
While driving in very remote small town I was cited for Failure to Stop. There are problems with the case, details here are not pertinent, I meant to contest in a hearing but forgot to send in the papers. Now MA wants to suspend permission to drive in the state unless I pay $380 to avoid the suspension. I barely have half that and rely on monthly social security. What can I do to find a solution to this problem? Before Dec. 31.
As much as I like to support my local government, I prefer to do it through taxation or other more-or-less straightforward revenue-collection practices. Parking enforcement, to me, is a completely irrational form of revenue generation. So, on the basis of pure principle (and $73), I ask: if the city issues parking citations for vehicles parked on street cleaning routes, (presumably) because such parked vehicles cause the city injury (or whatever, you know, tangible bad thing) by impeding street cleaning, what is the method most likely to succeed of challenging a ticket issued after street cleaning has concluded, on the basis that the city suffered no injury? Please help me find a website that notifies you when a ticket goes on sale by providing them with a link of the page you will be purchasing the ticket from.
I got clocked speeding in an area of Montreal with an 18 mph speed limit (that I didn't know about). I got a ticket and was sent on my way. As a US citizen and resident, I have questions about what impact (if any) this ticket will have on my license, insurance, and--if I choose not to pay the ticket--my ability to return to Canada. (Note: I am not seriously considering ignoring the ticket, I'm just curious.) [more inside]

So, this is frustrating, but do we just have to suck it up? Partner was driving car at night about 15 miles an hour down a poorly lit and deserted intersection in San Francisco and got photographed by a police camera before the reached the crosswalk. They were so surprised, they did not come to a full stop as they made a rolling right turn at that 10-15 mph speed. They then got photographed again and a ticket for $500 for not stopping in the intersection. I do think that the first flash of the photograph is probably a shady trick to do exactly what happened - startle the driver into committing an error, but I'm tempted to just have them pay. They feel like they were ambushed by the bright flash and are scheduled to contest in court. What say you, hive mind - what would you do? [more inside]
I was caught by the camera going through an intersection while the light was red because there was also a green arrow allowing me to turn left legally. What are the odds of winning this when the photos are such poor quality that the green arrow looks like a faint green blob? [more inside]
A person with a California driver's license gets a speeding ticket while driving through West Virginia. The speed alleged on the ticket was 15 miles over the posted limit. What would be the insurance consequences if the driver simply paid off the ticket without contesting it? How could the driver find out more information about whether s/he should contest the ticket, or plead guilty to a lower speed? In what state should the person be looking for a lawyer to best answer her/his questions? What should be this person's next step? Also, would the answers be different if the alleged speed was 10 (or 9, or 5, or whatever) miles over the posted limit?
The plan was to fly into Mumbai and make my way down the cost to Cochi. I just realized that my visa to India is not going to happen. I now have a 10-14 day gap. I'm leaving Tel Aviv on Feb. 3rd and staying in Kuala Lumpur on Feb. 14th, dates somewhat flexible. Where should I go? Things to know: -No countries that require anything other then VOA for a US born citizen please. -In addition to Israel and Kuala Lumpur I'm also going to Hong Kong, much of Japan, Australia and New Zealand. -Have visited western Europe and northern S. America on previous trips. Bonus points if it involves hiking, learning how to sail or involves getting to see the countryside in safety, though perhaps not comfort.
I am going to buy six tickets for Bay Pointe ballet's nutcracker show in San Mateo, CA. If I buy tickets on their website. I need to pay $15.5 for fees. I wonder if anybody knows if I can save those fees when I go to their box office in San Mateo to buy tickets directly. I was not successful when calling them to find out the answer.

A local non-profit I'm with holds monthly events and sells tickets. Right now the tickets are printed in bulk. We have full price tickets, student/senior tickets, and comp (free) tickets. We'd like to have more flexibility to introduce different price points as test runs and easily track how they go. We'd also like to be able to keep better tabs on the comp tickets, by differentiating tickets given to volunteers versus comp tickets given to sponsors, for example. [more inside]
A police officer showed up to our house today stating that there was a complaint about reckless driving involving our vehicle. Six hours earlier. When we first hesitated to answer and asked for more details, it turns out this police officer was off duty and witnessed this supposed reckless driving. He threatened to write us a ticket when he showed up to our house. More information inside. [more inside]

Last Saturday, I was speeding on the highway leaving West Bloomfield, Michigan on my way to Cincinnati, Ohio. A police officer pulled me to the side and forgave me for the transgression by issuing me a speeding ticket warning that carries some sort of monetary penalty that my parents have to pay for. I lost the ticket stub itself and don't remember where I was on I-275/if I was even on I-275 and my Mom said that if I don't get it to her ASAP the fines will triple and I'll be grounded. Do any of you guys know if there is a central repository of tickets issued in Michigan that I can go to to see the warning ticket number since locating the exact spot on Google maps is difficult? If not, what can I do?

I was pleasantly surprised today to find out that some flights I had booked a month ago for my family to travel later this year had come down dramatically in price, so even with the change fee of $150 a head, the savings was quite large and I got a better flight to boot. How often does this happen, and should a person routinely screen for lowered fares even after purchasing a ticket?

Got a parking ticket from AC (Alameda County, CA) transit. Intended to pay it on time but forgot about it. The ticket has never shown up in the online or phone pay systems. I could pay by mail but am concerned that the ticket price has gone up and that I won't get notices about what I owe. I tried calling the number on the back of the ticket but can't get through to a human being to find out how much I should pay them now. Does anyone know how much the tickets go up? If I pay by mail and the price is more more than the original ticket what should happen?

How do I fight a completely outrageous parking ticket in a court that clearly has no empathy for my case?
How do I fight a completely outrageous parking ticket in a court that clearly has no empathy for my case? The ticket is $250 for parking at a completely reasonable spot on Splitrock Road without no parking signs close by. At the trailhead where I parked, there is a map kiosk that shows a map that is labeled parking at that spot. When I went to court the first time, the prosecutor was very aggressive and the judge seemed to have no empathy for my case. The whole thing seems like a shakedown, please help! [more inside]

Washington State: I received a traffic ticket in the mail for overtaking a school bus. I did not see any of the flashing lights which the bus would normally display, and which are hard to miss, so I think that they were not on at the time that I passed the bus. I'm therefore thinking of requesting a "Contested Hearing" rather than a "Mitigation Hearing." Is this plan good or bad? [more inside]
