We are doing a campus wide migration to gmail, and that means I have a few hundred thunderbird users who need their settings changed to point to a new imap server (and change their username to username@foo.edu). What is the best way to get this done? [more inside]

So I am in the process of switching lots of applications over from PC to Mac, and next up is Thunderbird for my email. I'd like to bring several years worth of email with me, but I can't find a guide on doing this. Anybody got any suggestions? [more inside]

I would like to use the new release of Thunderbird (2.0) with my Yahoo account and am looking for a free SMTP service. I know Gmail lets you use its servers but apparently changes the 'From' field of the message to username@gmail.com for all messages. Is there any other service that I can use, apart from my ISP's (I shuffle between work, school and home). [more inside]
