Global question: Is there a name for customized therapy for artists/writers to help them work through creative problems?
Local question: Can anyone recommend a specific practitioner in the Seattle area who specializes in this, or who might otherwise be a good fit?

AskMe has finally convinced me to seek therapy. I'm scared, so I've typed up an outline. For the sake of not vastly exceeding my allotted time I can condense it to a short statement. Is it completely inappropriate to show up with three pages of numbered and bulleted woes?

I'm looking for recommendations for a gay/gay-friendly therapist in the Northern Virginia area who has experience with alcohol abuse and alcoholism. I'm attending AA meetings to help with the continuing sobriety, but I really think I would benefit from some additional therapy. Thank you. (The gay/gay-friendly is in there because I don't want any chance of homophobia or blaming my problems on being gay)

Where can I buy family puppets for use in psychotherapy -- preferably in New York City, but, if not, online? You know, the classic ones that are about 8 inches tall each? (not the crappy little ones amazon sells)
Thanks!

Fellow communication-challenged mefites: how do you work around your communication problems to participate effectively in therapy?
Often I find that regardless of whether I have my thoughts lined up or not, I cannot. get. words. out, as though someone cut the circuit between my brain and my mouth. So far I've had no luck circumventing the issue by writing things down; same problem. It's inhibiting my ability to (a) convey the severity of the problems I'm experiencing and (b) address them adequately if we happen to hit upon relevant topics by chance. TL;DR details inside, but that's the gist -- any suggestions for other work-arounds?

Can someone recommend a good therapist or psychologist in Swansea, Wales, preferably with a background in Asperger's Syndrome? It's important they should communicate by email or text (not just by phone), and it would be nice if they could cope with simultaneous untangling of anxiety/depression, sensory issues, bulimia, seemingly-insurmountable practical problems, a history of PTSD and neglect, and probably a few other things it would be great if they could help me uncover. It would be really helpful if they were also female and gay-friendly.
Thank-you.
(And by 'thank-you' I mean 'please, please help'.)

Because: 1) of depression and 2) I got into relationship trouble (with my spouse) because of occasional binge drinking--- I've have had no alcohol for about 7 weeks. I've been on a mild dose of an antidepressant almost the whole time and feel a low-level, but constant, state of mild depression- kind of "zombie-like." I was hoping getting alcohol off the table would reveal "emotional issues" as to why I've enjoyed binging , but that really hasn't happened, even with therapy (about 7-8 sessions - we've just kicked around painful events that probably most people have encountered one way or another.) Soooooo, the question is: How does one define or identify "emotional issues" related to substance abuse and/or depression? (beyond therapy, eliminating substances)

I've being researching about well-being and achieving this through self-disclosure (Pennebaker style) I've been narrowing my scope down to focus on how Pennebaker's style of writing has helped obese patients overcome psychological issues associated with obesity similar to other works on alcoholics and victims of traumatic experiences.
I'm not a Psychologist so a lot of the research out there is unknown to me, so does anyone know of any papers or authors that address this?
I've looked around but it might help if i have a lead or somewhere to start.
