the end of the Bob the Builder theme song has that heavy guitar riff "wind down" which reminds me of some tv show theme (like the drew cary show or WKRP) where some guy shouts: "I love you NEW YORK -or maybe detroit--what is that show?

I found a Wordpress theme the other night and didn't download it. Now I can't remember where I found it. In brief: the color of cardboard, crayon-ish drawings with at least one being a hot air balloon. [more inside]

I am looking for a free or cheap wordpress theme that has an academic journal feel to it. The style I am looking for is best represented at this blog
. Typical things in the theme I really like is the line below the header with the little leaf on, that the first letter in a post is three lines high and in another color and that the page background has a slight off-white color. [more inside]

The co-op I currently live in while attending University is having a room-to-room party. This basically entails that all of the members of the co-op go to each room for about 15-20 minutes to listen to some good music, drink a bit, and otherwise have a good time. Each room has a different theme so as to give the party a bit of variety.
I am new to the co-op, so I am not familiar with themes that have been used in the past. Moreover, my roommates and I are at a loss for ideas. We need your help! [more inside]

WKRP In Cincinnati (Closing Theme).
What the words to this? Are there any words? If they aren't words then what the hell are they, exactly? And what exactly is the story behind putting a song like that on a nationally broadcast sitcom? Anybody know the backstory?

Two of my favorite books for summer are "Winter's Tale" by Mark Helprin and "Smilla's Sense of Snow" by Peter Hoeg; I'd like suggestions for other (preferably hefty) novels with complex/absorbing story lines and wintry settings or themes to help me stay sane 'til September. Got an ice book to recommend?

For all you current and former medical school students out there: what one song defined your experience in medical school - especially year one. I'm looking for the song that has meaning but also a bit of tongue-in-cheek built in. It's the song you came up with on the back side of a marathon study session (while delirious). Does such a song exist?

My company has an upcoming three-day conference for its analytics (aka market research or data insights) department, and we need a theme of some sort. We'll be holding it on a college campus in Philadelphia. The topics are very broad and it's hard to hone in on one topic, which is why I'm having some trouble coming up with something. Ideally, this will be short and sweet and, hopefully, a tad funny. Sky's the limit in terms of titles! [more inside]

I want to take my kids/nieces/nephews to Disneyland, Universal Studios, and other SoCal theme parks. But I hate crowds. I'd like to go on the least crowded days. Given this is summer, is there a big difference in crowdedness if I go on a weekday vs weekend? Or will I just have to suck it up and deal with a huge crowd regardless of what day I go?

So a common subplot in a lot of movies is that the protagonist has a dull life and suddenly a romantic partner sweeps in and changes EVERYTHING. It spans genres from The Mask
to Stranger Than Fiction
(and of course the romantic comedy / chick flick industry would go broke without it.) I guess Cinderalla is the archetypal story here. I'm sort of curious about what larger connections there are to this thematic convention—like has anyone written about it, maybe focused more on Cinderalla and gender studies or psychology etc. [more inside]

Kids themed 21st birthday party: My 21st is in two weeks and I'm having a kids themed party, so it's back to the days of fairy bread and balloons. I need ideas. So far I'm using a projector to set up a big screen game of Super Mario Brothers, I'm having a pin the tail on the donkey game where you win a shot if you get it even remotely right, and I've downloaded a bunch of theme songs from kids shows back then. Any more ideas? [more inside]
