I've not used WordPress for quite some time and the recent release of 3.5 with its new ways of handling media has me somewhat confuddled.

Please help me to choose a WordPress theme for my (second) daily photo blog. My problem is that I want something so plain and simple that I'll probably have to pay for it, but the paid themes are complex and difficult for me to decipher. The content will be 365 posts and an archive gallery, presented as simply as possible.

Is there (a) such a thing as "companion themes" for WordPress and Tumblr and, if so, (2) where do I find them...?
Yeah, so, my new personal project is about writing, not design (which is where all the time goes that I
think I should be spending writing...) I want to collate images from Tumblr blogs onto my own Tumblr blog, then write about (some of?) the images and post it on a WordPress blog that's parked at my personal URL.
Since I can't go all designery and both platforms are theme-based, I'm wondering if anyone's seen what I'll call "companion themes," for lack of a better term: themes that are adapted for the specific features of each platform, but that share at least a common aesthetic, if not full UI.

I'm currently shopping for pay themes for a Wordpress blog. A lot of theme websites have previews for their themes, but are rather limited in their implementation. Are there good review/forum sites for themes that aren't SEO backwash, or is there an effective search method to find sites that use a particular theme?

I'm designing a custom Wordpress theme as part of a project. In addition to the typical Wordpress install, there's also going to be a social media plug-in on top of it (which has already been picked out and installed by another member of the project). This is the most complicated bit of web development that I've done, so I'm curious: what sort of workflow should I set up to make things easy on myself?

I have someone who wants a very specific look for a site but is on a budget, and before I get the design sliced and coded, I thought I'd check to see if anyone has seen a template that matches. We need to be able to pick all colors (background, sheet, etc), the sheet needs to have a shadow around it, and the sheet also needs to have deckle edges. The rest of the layout is pretty standard. Paid template is fine. Or, does anyone have recommendations for forums for theme recommendations?

I need advice on a professional Wordpress theme for my organization's web site. We will be doing most of the site creation and maintenance in-house; our staff has no specialized knowledge in any web languages but is comfortable using Google and following directions for what to insert into various files. What theme is going to give us the least headaches for our efforts?

I need a theme for a new Wordpress site I'm making about hot springs in Japan. I have a large Bento database of over 200 location with reviews, pictures, addresses, types of baths, and so on... I've found a way to automatically turn the CSV file that Bento makes into the pages I want... I just need a template to put those pages into. Something simple and more geared to hosting static pages rather than a blog. I've spent hours searching through all of these theme websites only to get confused in the 1,000s of choices. So I'm asking you, the MiFi community, to choose for me. Thanks!

I am looking for a free or cheap wordpress theme that has an academic journal feel to it. The style I am looking for is best represented at
this blog. Typical things in the theme I really like is the line below the header with the little leaf on, that the first letter in a post is three lines high and in another color and that the page background has a slight off-white color.
