Oh, and in a sexy voice too?

I want to listen to my custom news/etc. in the morning. Who has a way of turning their RSS text feeds into mp3s? Feeds->RSS Text->Spoken Mp3->PDA/phone/iTunes, as automated as possible? I'm almost sure I saw a little side article about this in a Mac magazine a few months ago, but it is now lost to me.
There has got to be a way to do this - in fact, a bunch of ways - who's got the best?

Text to speech to mp3?

I want to have a Word document read out by an automated voice and converted into mp3 format which I can then listen to on my mp3 player. The document could be up to a few thousand words. What is the easiest/cheapest way to achieve this? Also what is the best (most professional) way to achieve this?

I want to convert text to MP3! I'd like to convert hazardous weather outlooks and area forecasts discussions issued by the National Weather Service to MP3s and upload them to my weather website for all to download. I need a free text to MP3 converter. Bonus points for a program that will let me substitute words for the pesky abbreviations.

Text to Speech Synthesizer

I'm trying to locate a good text to speech synthesizer. I've looked at several but, I'm wondering if you know of any. (More inside). I'd like to dump text files in a desktop (win32) app and have it spit out mp3/wav files.
Here's what I've tried so far: Oddcast, Freets, IBM TTS, Elanspeech, Realspeak, Oddcast has the best and most realistic but, licensing is remotely hosted and I would really like a desktop app... for now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
