Swedish drunk text translation help please :) Note: may be slightly off color language, THAT word I think I recognize! This was sent to me from a female friend and I'm trying to decipher it.

I get the gist of it from google's translation tools, but because of her grammar, a T9 texting shorthand/typo, etc I'm not confident of the translation given.

Why can't my friend text me? (iPhones/AT&T) One of my friends can't text me: his texts appear to send fine, but they never arrive on my phone. I have a first-gen iPhone; he has the newer 3G version. Both phones are unmodified, un-jailbroken, and have the standard service through AT&T. We live in the same city (Austin, TX). He can text other people successfully. I can receive texts from others. We have no problems with voice calls.

I have no idea where to even start to diagnose this issue. Any ideas?

My SO and I have completely opposite work schedules, so often the only way we can communicate for days at a time is through notes and text messages. I'm looking for cute and unique little poems and phrases to send him throughout the day to send him. My favorite examples are inside: Por ejemplo, this Shel Silverstein poem:

I know you little, I love you lots,

my love for you could fill ten pots,

fifteen buckets, sixteen cans,

three teacups, and four dishpans.

I also enjoy sending him cute one-liner jokes and pick-up lines, anything beyond the usual "I love you! You're cute! I'm thinking of you!"

Online Personal Finance Program Identification Help!

Despite searching AskMe and Google in as many different terms as I can come up with, I can't find an old post about a personal finance program that allows you to automatically add transactions via text message. Do you know what program it is? I swear that I read about this program on AskMe, probably between 6 and 12 months ago. It referred to an online-based personal finance program that, among other things, allowed you to text transactions that would be automatically added to your balance sheet.

I have tried looking at the websites of various personal finance programs but can't figure it out. Can you help?

What online or iPhone-based tool can I use to send text messages to a bunch of people at once? A related but larger question: what online social networking tools can I use to help connect a community of not-very-geeky people who know each other in real life? I'm a community organizer who needs to stay in touch with a large and frequently changing group of people who live in my town. We have an e-mail list, but people don't seem to read/respond to it very much.

I want to be able to easily manage a list of around 100 phone numbers (starting from the Contacts in my iPhone) and easily send text messages to the whole list or any sublist.

Folks in my community range in age from 20 to 79 and are typically not very geeky. I think email isn't working partly because folks don't read their email very often, and partly because they get a lot of it and are overwhelmed by it.

One barrier to entry seems to be having to set up an account/profile, either due to usability issues or privacy concerns. We've been using Google technology to manage the email list and share documents, and a lot of people seem to get stuck at setting up a Google account.

Why does my phone SMS me when I check voice mail?

Why does my cell phone send me a text message whenever I retrieve my voice mail? I'm a little new to cell phone land. I've had a RAZR v3 with Cingular/AT&T for maybe a year but I've only lived someplace where it worked for the past few weeks so I'm still learning some things.

Whenever I check my voice mail (I think, it may only be when I save or delete a voicemail) I get an SMS at the same time, but it's not from anyone or it seems to be from my phone. It looks like this [pic1, pic2] and there's no text to the message, just that.

I don't care terribly, but it's a little disconcerting to be checking voice mail and having the phone buzzing in my hand, so if this is turn-offable, I'd love to be able to do that. Can someone explain what is going on here? My apologies in advance if this is a total "duh" question that you are embarassed for me not knowing.

I'm looking for an online system that allows us to set up a number that people can sms text to from their cell/mobile phones. It needs to work in the USA, and ideally also support RSS feeds of the messages as they come in - or some similar feed - so we can extract the received texts. Failing the live feed, we could make do with an Inbox system and periodically scrape or manually extract the messages out. Also being able to reply to the incoming messages is a bonus but not essential.

T-mobile MDA & AIM/Yahoo! Messenger: what's the REAL story with paying per message? I'm a current (and pretty satisfied) T-mobile customer-- I'm not interested in changing networks at all. But I do want to change my phone in for the T-mobile MDA, which I'll use for work and to hold office hours for an online course I'm teaching (office hours run via AIM). So far, no problem.

But when I've gone in and priced plans, I've added in the Total Internet package, which gives access to the GPRS data service as well as to the HotSpot WiFi service. The issue is this: I have asked three customer service people who work for T-mobile about how AIM/Y! instant messages are carried and billed, and I have been told two different things. One says that these services are covered through the Total Internet package and are unlimited, as they are Internet services. The other says that each AIM message sent and received counts as a text message ($0.20 apiece). The third has no clue.

So I need to hear the truth from someone who is receiving actual bills, someone using the MDA and the Total Internet Plan. What's the real story, since T-mobile itself doesn't seem to know?

How can I get someone to stop harassing me?

Six months ago my fiance posted a question asking for advice on how to stop a female friend who had flipped out after our engagement and started to harass me via text message. Unfortunately, it's still going on... After I told her that my fiance and I were engaged, a female friend of mine (I'm a woman too, btw) started harassing me...telling me she wanted to sleep with me, insulting me, trying to provoke me, and just generally making life miserable. Although she has never been threatening, getting these messages every other week or so is getting pretty wearing.

I'm considering getting a restraining order, not only to stop the harassment but also to keep her from somehow crashing my wedding. Has anyone taken out a restraining order? How much time and energy did it take? Also, does anyone have any advice on how to get her away from me? Ignoring her hasn't worked.

I get spam text messages from Us Weekly magazine on my phone that I guarantee I did not sign up for. T-Mobile won't block messages from the number they come from. How do I get myself off the list? I don't care who cheated on whom, especially since I'm getting charged for each text message they send.

Cell phone help: I want to send/receive Japanese text messages/email from my cell phone in the US. Is this possible? Basically, my girlfriend lives in Japan I would love to be able to send/receive Japanese text messages from my US cell phone.

However, I visited a cell phone store in a Japanese area of town and I was told that even if I have a Japanese cell phone (Toshiba 904t from Vodafone, for example (tri-band phone that works in the US)) I can send messages in Japanese but because of the way the American (T-Mobile/Cingular) network is setup, I will not be able to receive messages in Japanese; they will show as garbage (mojibake) or just question marks. Is that correct?

The salesperson suggested I get a Windows Mobile 5.0 MDA (PDA with a built-in phone) and then install a hacked version of the Japanese IME and that that would allow me to send/receive in Japanese. However, 1) I already have a PDA (Windows CE 2003SE, Japanese edition) and I don't really need another, and 2) the per-month cost for an MDA w/internet access is very expensive ($50-70 for T-Mobile). That's a lot of money to pay just so I can text-message in Japanese.

I know I can send messages in English, but that's not what I really want to do. Plus, I've never liked the "text prediction" function of English cell phones (it takes forever to type a message out because, as far as I know, you have to type every character).

Is there anything else I can do?

Help me get text message alert updates for the NFL draft this weekend. This weekend, my carefully constructed indie rock elitism will come head to head with my obsessive NFL football fanaticism. I will be in the middle of the California desert for Coachella while the NFL draft occurs this weekend. I would like to receive pick-by-pick updates on my cell phone via text message while I am rocking out on the polo fields on Saturday and Sunday. Are there any services that will do this for me?

Some details: I am on Cingular (formerly AT&T Wireless) (so the official NFL/Sprint service won't work for me) with a Nokia 3650. I would like to recieve a text for every pick and newsworthy development (trades, etc). I would prefer to have the text sent to my phone rather than use my crummy mobile internet service to check an email box.

Help! Problems sending text messages from the U.S. (T-Mobile) to Spain (Vodafone). I can receive but can't send... I'm trying to keep in touch with some friends I made in Spain and while I can receive the sms/text messages they send me, they don't receive anything I send them. I called my carrier, T-Mobile, and they said that it must be something on the receivers' network, although I'm not quite sure what that would be. I've tried a variety of different ways of putting in the number (e.g. 011 34(Spain's country code) cell phone number, +34 cell phone number, etc), but none of them work. I googled and saw that a few other people have had this problem, but I haven't been able to find a solution. Any ideas?

As a follow-up to this question, I'm looking for an online application that will let me set up a calendar and will email me daily reminders of the day's events. I need to do this online, because I move around a lot and am constantly using different PCs (so an Outlook/Eudora/Etc. solution won't work). I would like to be able to get a reminder the night before and one the morning-of. Google suggests there are several such services. Are there any really good ones? Bonus: Has anyone invented one that will phone you or leave your a text message?
