Best response to very late texting from someone you're attracted to?

Asked someone out. He said yes. I live far away and he planned to come visit soon after. He couldn't come ultimately (as he was busy getting ready for a trip). He was appropriately apologetic and nice about it (and I understood.. but know historically I have been too understanding too often, but first cock up, not a big deal). He said he'd make it up to me on his return. I last asked how he was getting on with sorting things out for his hols and when he was going. I didn't hear back for 4 days (today) he goes tomorrow. Business correspondence via SMS

The management software my company uses recently added the ability to send messages via SMS to our clientele. We've signed up and it's tested well, but we're not clear on the legality of sending business correspondence messages (no marketing, simply "Your rent is due, please call # or pay online @ oursite.com/pay") without the client expressly opting in for SMS messaging. Do we need to have everyone opt-in or are non-marketing messages for the purpose of communicating legitimate business notices exempt? [more inside]

Best Multi-Country Cell SIM?

My son is going on a three-week school trip to several countries in Europe about a month. I'd like to either buy a SIM for his (out of contract, unlocked) iPhone 4s, or direct him to buy one in London, at the airport, when he lands. I'm specifically looking for decent voice rates to the US, some international texting, and data to include an available network of WiFi. [more inside]

Diagnose my iPhone

Text messaging consistently does not work on my phone (iPhone 4s, AT&T). 2 failure modes: 1) The blue "Sending" bar does not go all the way to complete in iMessage 2) I'll send a text successfully, and the other person will text me back right away, but I won't receive their reply. When I do get their reply, however, it'll say the correct timestamp (from when they sent it, which is often hours earlier.) This always happens with some people and never with others. It happens to both iMessage and regular texts. I'm wondering whether to take it to the Apple store, the AT&T store, to do a factory reset, or to fiddle with some other settings. Has anyone else encountered this and been able to fix it?

I keep forgetting to return texts.

How do you keep track of your texts? I get texts that ask to set up drinks with a friend (or a playdate for my child), or asking how things are, or sending me a link to something silly to check out. If I can't answer then, inevitably a new text from someone else will come in later and I lose track of the unanswered one(s). This is an iPhone, by the way. [more inside]

I am too old for a sexy sexy texting relationship...

After taking some time off from romance, I found myself happily being circled by a guy I'm attracted to... but so far he appears to be the flirty "all talk, no action" sort. I've not dated many of this breed so I'm out of my element and have just been laying low and staying patiently ladylike. I'm in my 40s though, and I'm not gonna lie... I'm in the mood for some action and too old for games. My patience is wearing thin. Hope me! [more inside]
