I like typing in landscape but browsing in portrait. Unlocking the orientation means it turns sideways whenever I lie down. I'd really like a landscape-only text editor. Plain as you like. Markdown and Dropbox support a bonus! I have a 6 Plus, iOS 9.

WordPad is a bare-bones RTF editor. What app will approximate WordPad on an Android? Bonus points if the editor also syncs itself between Android and Windows. [more inside]
For the last several months, I have used an online text editor to write upcoming posts for my blog. When I had my computer reimaged, I lost my open tabs, and now I can't find the website I was using to edit text. I was 99% sure that the site was called QuickWrite or QuickWriter, but I can't seem to find it again. [more inside]
For years I've been using Homesite on a PC, which was a great text editor. Now I've switched to Mac and all the text editors I find pale in comparison, despite the fact that Homesite hasn't been updated in years. Help me find one that I'll like. [more inside]

Can anyone recommend a good programmer's editor for MVC? Specifically, I'm looking for something that will let me choose a class, and automatically open up the three corresponding model, view, and controller source files, so I don't have to go looking for them. [more inside]
I've decided to move on from my favourite UltraEdit to the up and coming SciTE. However, I have one annoying "feature" that's stopping me from falling in love with SciTE. I have yet to figure out how to stop it from creating separate instances when loading multiple documents. [more inside]
On the Mac, if I need to munge text in extremis, I prefer to use BBEdit. Recently, on the PC, I am finding myself in need of a text editor which is similar to BBEdit. I will use it both for coding and for text-cleaning. I prefer freeware and shareware but that's by no means the deciding factor. Which programs should I check out? Which should I avoid? [more inside]

OS X coders, what is your freeware text editor of choice? Something with syntax highlighting, line numbers, auto-indent, a versatile local open/save dialog, and [optional] FTP Open/Save. Right now I use SubEthaEdit and jEdit and like them both, but I'd like to see what other software I may have missed in Googling.
