I've been suffering muscle soreness/stiffness in my back for almost two months now. I thought it was related to walking (see my
previous question), I've reduced my walking to almost zero and the pain persists. What could possibly be causing this and how can I nip this in the bud?

Yesterday, as I was bending over to plug something in, I sneezed really hard and popped about 4 vertebrae all at once right in the middle of my back. Right in the spot where I carry all my tension. It felt absolutely amazing and a little dangerous. Is it possible to safely and regularly replicate that release of tension on my own, say once a day? How?

Though I can be broodish and moody at home at times, I keep it in check. People at my workplace find me enjoyable and fun to work with. They find me humorous. I have friends there. Today, one manager out of the blue from another department told me "You are the most negative person I know." I told her in an even tone "That is not too nice a thing to say, you know?" She just rolled her eyes and laughed and said "You're a downer…like Eeyore". Context: She sort of glides from department to department with this air of superiority and says edgy things to people in a joking-but-not-really way. Many don't find her funny. I let her get to me as it cut me deeply. Real deep. Before that I was in a zen mode all day and at peace. How do I deal with interactions with her in the future as I can't change her and I secretly think she likes taking jabs at people. (moderate sociopath?) She is higher in the chain and is liked even higher up as a hatchetwoman and I don't want to be rash with something I might say back. I wish I could buy Thick Skin on ebay or something. Thanks for your answers. (If it matters, I am a male.)

I just spent the weekend watching Breaking Bad, a show that is brilliant and full of intensely unpleasant moments of tension. I'm looking for books, shows, or movies that produce similar feelings of dread. The Shield offered something like this, as well as No Country for Old Men, The Strain, BSG, The Road, and parts of Justified. Any recommendations? (Extra points for anything available to watch on Netflix Instant)

When I was childless, my parents' right-wing politics were pretty easy to ignore. Whatever, we're different, they are entitled to their opinions. But now that I have a small child, and we are about to adopt transracially, things are beginning to get tense for me.

What's the scoop on 'bodywork'? What kind of bodywork can you recommend for helping me address general muscle tension and related pain issues? And even just for the heck of it? This would include, but not be limited to stuff like alexander technique and structural integration. I'm not too familiar with these kinds of therapies and I don't know anyone who has experience with them. I want to hear about your experiences / endorsements.
