UKTenantFilter: My heating broke on friday at 2pm. The landlord turned up at 4 but didn't fix it then because he 'wanted daylight to work on it'. Today (saturday) he said it couldn't be fixed because it needed a new fuse and 'nowhere that was open had one' - so we have to wait until Monday.

UK tenancy filter: I'm in a shared house. Our contract is up at the end of the month. Against my advice, a few of my fellow tenants are refusing to pay their rent for the final month - claiming they need the money to afford to move. They claim that the landlord will be able to take the arrears from the security deposit and that we won't be taken to court over it...

My partner and I will be moving to Vancouver in August. We found a great place in a lovely neighborhood. The lady that owns the condo seems incredibly kind and down to earth. That said, she says that because of rules with her condo, she can't legally rent the place to us, which means there are some details that might be concerning...

Question about flat rental in England. A friend and I will soon be moving out of our current places and sharing a flat together. I'll need to sign a contract for a flat while he's out of the country. How can we end up in a situation where we're both on the tenancy agreement with equal status, as if he'd been present to sign originally?

Our apartment was damaged on Friday, and the whole floor needs to come out, possibly some of the drywall too. The property manager needs us to vacate, and remove all of our stuff, for an extended period of time (1-2 months). (Note that we have been dealing with the property manager, and to a lesser extent, the superintendent, and not our landlord.) How much notice is he legally required to give us? We live in Toronto. YANAL.

I am seven months into my second one-year apartment lease. My boyfriend and I have decided that he is going to move in with me. Am I legally obligated to tell my landlord? Will this put me in any legal issues with my lease, given that I am the sole name on it? I'm in British Columbia.
