Does anyone remember this old advertisement?

Wicked long shot, but I would like to identify a 15-year-old infomercial because it brought me so much joy. It featured a man in a dance club selling some mysterious service. [more inside]

Trashy TV for you and me

Please recommend to me some terrifically trashy guilty pleasure TV shows -- but not reality shows! -- that I can watch over the next few months. The shows can be currently airing on TV (preferred), online on a legit streaming website (Hulu, etc.), or on Netflix Instant Streaming. I'm thinking something along the lines of "Gossip Girl" or the new 90210 series or "Pretty Little Liars", none of which I have ever seen. What else is out there right now that's good -- which is to say, entertainingly bad -- that I can get into quickly? [more inside]

possible to fix tv speakers buzz?

My boyfriend has a Phillips 32" in flat LCD HDTV, that appears to be from 2006 or 2007. The screen seems to still be in great shape, but the speakers have developed an annoying buzz. Is it likely that the speakers could be fixed at a reasonable cost, or do we need to junk the tv completely and just get a new one?

Am I being irrational?

I'm about to buy a Panasonic TC-P42U2 plasma flat-panel TV (Amazon, Newegg) As you can see, buying from Newegg will cost me $100 more than buying from Amazon, yet I'm tempted to do just that since Newegg has an unimpeachable customer service record. Am I crazy? [more inside]

Film/TV Filming Locations Identification

I have some screenshots from a television show, and I would like to post them somewhere so that someone could identify the specific filming location for me (they weren't shot on a set, but on location; the Angeles National Forest area in So. California specifically). I've tried doing this in some Flickr groups but it's been fruitless. Any suggestions of some sites or online communities that could help me out? Thanks in advance!

LED LCD HDTV?

LED LCD HDTV? I'm looking to finally replace my 1998-vintage CRT with a Samsung 40" LED LCD @120 Hz (model #UN40C6300SF). It's on sale at Best Buy and the reviews have been very positive with a few complaints of bad panels and visible corner "flashlighting" in a dark room. Anyone have experience with LED TVs? I like their sexy slimness, but are they built to last? Should I wait another year for a comparably-priced 3D version?

LG LCD Television Display Issue

I own a basic 42 inch LG LCD TV-- I believe 1080p and 60hz. The television is about two and half years old. Recently two vertical lines have appeared that run roughly in line with where the standard definition display would end on the left and right edges. It seems as if these lines are "burnt in" to the display. The lines are extremely visible under light to medium tones and are about 1 inch thick at their widest. Is the TV spent? Obviously no warranty is in effect at this point. Anyone have any solutions or recommendations?
